From The Advocate - AP Bret Martel

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is the Associated Press college player of the year, the school’s second winner in the past five seasons.

As a youth athlete, his nickname was “smooth” he said in an interview with the AP “because it looks like I’m not running fast..but I’m moving faster than what most people think.”

LSU was knocked out of contention for an SEC title when it loss to Bama, a game where Daniels spent most of the fourth quarter on the sideline with concussion symptoms after a penalized hit by linebacker Dallas Turner. Until that point, Alabama’s defense had struggled to contain Daniels.

”That still burns me,” Daniels said,”Obviously we lost to a very good team, but I felt like it would have been a whole different story if I was in there.”

Agreed, and Bama knew it. Hence the hit.

15 yard penalty to secure a W?

Would be dumb for them not to TBH

We were too dumb on defense to retaliate

Not always.

He is strategic in his cheating.

After the hit:

12 quarters

1,020 yards passing and 13 TDs
450 yards rushing and 4 TDs
150 points scored

Yeah, it burned him.

The game was already over when Daniels was knocked out.

Nick ordered the hit. Dallas Turner was the button man. Plain-and-simple.

Saban “suggested” that during his halftime rant about not being able to stop him. And he had a goon ready to go, coached up to hurt opposing QB's

The probability of a come back was low, but we’ve all seen crazier comebacks than that would’ve been.

Saban’s a sociopath. It doesn’t make me respect him any less other than the targeted hits on QB’s which I’ve come to deal with. I even told my brother when we went to the game in Tuscaloosa that I was expecting a targeting hit but hoping it wouldn’t take JD out for the season. Of course, when it happened, the Bama fans behind me cheered and made fun of JD. The fact that Bama fans still even exist proves that karma isn’t real.

Bama’s players obviously felt differently than you, when they decided it was time to take Daniels out.

First, drawing a 15 yd penalty is one thing. Losing the player for the rest of the game and an half in next, by suspension, is another.
Second, an OL retaliating, while understandable, is stupid and accomplishes nothing, aside from incurring 15 yds against the offense.
Third, nobody least of all Alabama can make a principled argument that the game "was over". I remember the Auburn/ Bama game this year and four years ago.

If we score a TD on that possession the game is still well within reach.

I’m glad he feels that way, but him being in there isn’t going to make the defense get a stop.
