Hurts brings a dynamic to the QB position that has given LSU D some issues this season. However, this D has really done well coming back from the Ole Miss game. Jalen Hurts will be a factor but ultimately will force balls he shouldn’t a could have a big fumble. I’m looking for LSU’s D to take another step forward and continue to create turnovers in this game.

I might be more worried about Hurts if OU’s defense was any better.

I do think he will have some success, he’s a great player and Riley has done a good job putting him in position to make plays, but I just don’t see how this OU defense even slows us down.

He will have to put up 50+ pretty much by himself to even have a chance, so no, my anxiety level is pretty low.

OSU or Clemson will present a serious challenge, OU just won’t. If Hurts singlehandedly knocks this train off the tracks he’ll go down as the biggest Tiger killer of all time given what he did in 16 and 17 and he’ll deserve all of our respect.

We've faced him before with a lot less of an LSU team and with a stronger offense (Alabama) and I think we'll be fine.

Hurts had mediocre stats against LSU both times.

Playing in a very conservative offense

He was also a true freshman and true sophmore in both games

He is now a senior playing in a much more wide open offensive scheme. And it should be noted that he made a big improvement in year 3 at Alabama but he got beat out by Tua who will no doubt be a first round pick.

A little. He's like a really good RB who can throw.

Gotta force him into mistakes.

Gutless overconfident bastards ... 23 down arrows seven up ... You’d punish a man for his beliefs ...

At the start of this season when I predicted 15-0 I saw the same crap (About 4 arseholes per believer)

I CHALLENGE YOU CLOWNS GIVING THIS MAN 23 DOWN ARROWS TO WATCH THE FOURTH QUARTER OF LAST YEARS SECCG

Tua went down and Hurts (with that Bama dee) went Clutch and beat Georgia from a deficit ...

Look lotsa folks don’t know that Oklahoma been crutin’ damn good in Texas last few years ... Along with LSU

I’ve got $6.6K to collect $12.6K (12 casino tickets @$550 ea to beat taxes if needed) on LSU -13 ... got them before the line went to -13.5 and Before CEH pulled that Hamstring

That homer Cowherd picked Okla to cover
Lotsa others out there picking the same.

Glad our coach and team doesn’t think with that arrogant overconfidence that these 23 arseholes have ...

There’s a second challenge for you all sky high about the OK injury situation ...

Look up Oklahoma recruiting team rankings these past few years ... 247 sports

With CEH we had a rout and a win by 20.
Now ... We got a game and we’ll be lucky to cover ... I’m nervous ... And I’ll admit it ...

Joe got that 29-0 payback for Jalen (the backup who didn’t see a snap) ... I’m counting on all that angst ...

No. OU should be far more concerned about facing Burrow!

You and many LSU fans live in a state of worry!!!!!!!!!

But, I have to admit, facing Jalen Hurts does worry me

You will get downvoted into oblivion for saying this, but the truth is that you are spot on. We better not take him lightly. He’s probably more confident vs us than anyone else in the playoffs. He knows where we are lethal on D, and where we have holes. He knows our speed and our tendencies to over-run plays. He has beat us twice already, btw...

I’m more worried about Jalen than any other QB we could face in the playoffs. We better stay in his face and play gap-smart football or he WILL give us trouble.

This is what I posted about Hurts vs LSU back on the 16th in a similar discussion...

quote:

You always have to be careful when playing with fire but Hurts did not have a good game against us either time he played LSU.

He is a cumulative:

21-43 (48.8%) 290 yds 1 TD 1 INT

34 carries for 158 yds 2 TDs (one tainted!)

So that is in two games 1 TD pass, 1 Int, and 2 rushing TDs... Not bad but definitely not torching anything. And that came out to about 225 yds total offense per game.

As long as he isn’t allowed to run wild like ole miss QB in the second half of our game, LSU should win by 17 or more. LSU should be able to scorch the OU defense if the offense doesn’t go through the motions.

I think he is the type of QB that LSU struggles against. But he’s not that good a passer so he won’t hurt us there.

He won’t be able to score enough with his legs to beat us. We will destroy their defense.

He’s a ball hog and a turnover machine. I look forward to the LSU D exposing him on national TV Saturday. He’s due.

Saying he can throw is a bit of an understatement

He was one of the highest rated passers in all of college football

He makes too many mistakes. He has not handled pressure well this year. They run the QB too much to win this game. Remember we shut him down ( 10-0) in the 2016 loss a few years ago. This LSU defense is much better than the 2016 version in terms of handling running QB"s. He does not have enough playmakers around him. We get a lead on him and he will make bad decisions.

He’s still a turnover machine and reckless.
