What we need is fans to get that BS of wanting Stingley to play both offense and defense.
I was being sarcastic

You are stupid. Sting is at least 6’1 and is the fastest player on the team.

Lacks top end speed and is short. Drafting the guy top 10 would probably be a mistake. He’s more of a back of the first rd pick or early 2nd for me and that’s only if he puts last year behind him and truly plays well this season.

He's the same size Jalen Ramsey

2 time All-American and the only defensive player in the HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL to be named a Consensus All-American as a true freshman and you've got him going in the 2nd round.
I have to say in my over 10 years of posting on Tigerdroppings and this might win for the most ridiculous statement I have seen.

That is why you are message board warrior and not employed in the real football world...

I’ve always feared Sting is a bit overrated/overrated. Lacks top end speed and is short. Drafting the guy top 10 would probably be a mistake. He’s more of a back of the first rd pick or early 2nd for me and that’s only if he puts last year behind him and truly plays well this season.
What a stupid motherfricker

Sure, I am always concerned when a starter misses practice a lot. Since there is nothing that can be done about it, I just ignore it as much as possible.

No, not in the least. As Ed O says he is ready to go but that they have been holding him out as a precaution. Not to mention that he is doing drills on the sideline to keep himself in shape and to stay sharp.

Not a popular opinion, but I think this season will determine if he's Picked 1-5 or 6-15. One has to consider not only his performance, but the performance of every other highly projected (draft) player and if there are a few out there that are able to perform at a level to bump in front of Sting if he doesn't have a 2019 type season. This isn't even to mention the needs of the top 5 teams drafting.

Nope! He doesn’t need camp, needs to be healthy! The guy has plenty of experience so as long as he is personally taking reps on his own, I’m good with him not in camp setting. He’s got a chip this year and it’s his money year so we’ll see a new and improvised Stingley imo. I hope that he doesn’t let all the talk get to him and he does his thing because it would be a real shame if he allows what happened last year to affect him again this year!

I'll say it again.
He needs to show out on the field and have a tremendous Season.

He shouldn't have been AA last year if being honest

Am I missing something? Do people not know what lowkey is. Why do people seem up in arms over it?
Posted on 8/22/21 at 7:03 pm to BANDE
Low key? No, complete concerned.
The guy has been reading his press clippings and believes he is the greatest thing to hit campus. The fans on here are saying he has nothing to work on, he is perfect in every way. Ed O must agree because he seems to be allowing him to do anything he wants and not making him work in practice.
Yes the guy has great measureables and skills, but playing defense is a team concept. He needs to learn to work and trust those around him, and the ones around him need to trust him. This can only be accomplished on the field in practice. You look at guys like Patrick Peterson, No Claibourne, and Tyrann Mathieu, they never took practice off, they wanted to compete and prove they are great. Not this guy, he takes practices and games off and is encouraged to do so by his dad and O. This is not good for the TEAM, go and watch the video of what Saban had to say about his tight end taking time off!
When coach O took over for Miles he cut the practice time and physicality in practice, which was needed. But now I think he had gone too far to protect the star player to the detriment of the team unity. This has me worried about the team overall and showed itself on the field last year.

There was a time when everyone was on Laquan Treadwell’s junk before the draft. I was probably his only detractor in the entire football space and declared that he was more likely to be a complete bust than to make a single pro bowl game.
Lo behold, he did some nfl workouts and dropped from the top 5 to pick 23 and 5 years into the league he has less than 25 catches and 2 tds to his name.
Point is, I’ve said out of the norm shite before and have nailed it. And I didn’t even say Stingley was a bust. I just say he’s not top 10 worthy.
Concerns
1) Height- y’all want to reference his google height, but look at him on the field. He’s small compared to the outside wr’s he goes up against. He’s about 5ft 11 max.
2) Speed- again y’all want to reference google instead of using your eyeballs when he plays. Stingley has average at best recovery speed and also has zero juice on punt returns. Yeah, he might run a fast 40, but it doesn’t translate all of the way on the actual field.
3) Crazy Hype. Y’all are setting this man up to fail. He isn’t prime Darrelle Revis and he will never be that. He might be a guy that can make 3-5 pro bowls in his career if he stays healthy, but there is also a chance he will just be a slightly above average corner in the league and never make any. Sting is a good player and he was advanced for his age as a freshmen in the SEC. I’m talking the NFL right now though. He needs to improve to be a pro bowler at that level and his height and game speed is working against him. He’s young and can improve, but he took a step back last year. So I can’t blindly project that he will improve going forward. I have to actually see it. Does he have the want to be great and match the hype? We will see.
Y’all can bookmark these posts if y’all want. I’m not a hater. I’m simply a realist.
