I thought season was over when Nicholls' Guggenheim sliced and diced LSU's defense for a long TD run, bringing the margin in that game to 2 points in the third quarter!

LSU is a vastly improved team.

Team is looking good. How hard has the schedule been so far? Hard to say. I'm optimistic though.

It was never a trap game. Arkansas beat undefeated Tennessee, for pete's sake!

I am not. But like many other people after the USC loss I was not saying the sky is falling. I believe in Brian Kelly and the staff that’s in place (one of the best in college football). I was telling people after the USC game we will beat Ole Miss and we’ll be 7-1 going into the Bama game.

Imagine being Lincoln Riley. He bails on Oklahoma because he doesn't want to play in the SEC. Now he's at USC and can't win in the B1G. LOL

That would be funny except for beating LSU. LOL

There seems to be a lot of parity in college football this year. No doubt due to transfer rules and conference realignment.

You never know how a season shakes out. I’m not surprised that LSU is winning, but I am surprised how much the rest of CFB is in utter chaos.

USCe could have been a blowout loss

Possibly, but statistically we were the better team in that game. You have to make the best of the opportunities given, we did, they didn’t. Bad calls on both sides of the ball.

I’m not surprised, Kelly for the most part wins the games he is supposed to win. That said, the next few games will be telling.

LSU-USCE

1st Downs 26-18

Passing 285-155

Rushing 132-243

Total Yards 417-398

Turnovers 2-3

Interceptions thrown 1-1

Possession 32:57 27:03

Looking at the the USC game and how they are playing in the Big 10. That is more shocking how we lost.

USCe could have been a blowout loss, and after that game I thought we’d be lucky to finish 7-5, especially with tough games against Ole Miss, Bama, OU, and A&M ahead.

Not so much shocked about LSU play but the whole SEC stuff is crazy.

Bama 2 losses already
Vandy plowing opponents
OU belly up already
Teams like UGA and Tenn suck one week and great the next.
LSU and aTm lose first game and meet next week for sole possesion of 1st in SEC
UK, USCe, Mizzou, UF no telling WTF these teams will do week to week

There were many years Bama had a bad game, a lucky win and then went on a run...you're seeing it here. Each team takes time to gel and hopefully we're gelling.

Let’s not forget that LSU has not played a season opener in Tiger Stadium under Kelly.
Vegas was nice, but there is no comparison to playing in Tiger Stadium against a FSU or USC. No doubt in my mind LSU wins those two games at home…
He’ll, LSU hasn’t had a home season opener since 2020…and that was with cardboard fans in the stands. Great OOC games rarely happen in Tiger Stadium…the money is great, but that’s split by the conference.
That shite needs to stop…let someone else do it while we reap the benefits for a change…
Win those two games and Kelly has five losses in three years up to this point…
And yet people bitch and complain…

Not I. His teams always get better. And I wasn’t of the belief that OM was all that . Season is in our hands.

NIL and transfer portal.

LSU and Brian Kelly handled it, other teams not so much

I am. Especially once we lost Perkins. We have improved so much since that game. Our line, when not false starting every other play, continues to give our QB great pockets and last night, created holes for the running game.

Not stunned, but a little surprised. We’ve had a few disappointments, but others have stepped up with pleasantly surprising performances. I’m mostly surprised by the def line, since they were decimated by losing players to the draft and injury. Then Perkins surprised at his poor play, but Weeks surprised by his stellar play. The receivers have been better than expected. Anderson is finally playing how we expected, but I had just about written him off, while Sampson disappointed. Jackson disappointed, but Durham has been awesome. Too bad Emory got hurt again, because he looked like he was about to have a big year. Then of course Nuss has been excellent, but we expected that. He had huge shoes to fill, and has met the expectations. Where he has exceeded expectations is he has kept turnovers down, which was unexpected.

LSU has many surprises this year……main one is the DEFENSE…..I am trying to keep my irrational exuberance down but it is getting more difficult…..hope the Tigers are healthy……wonder what uni the Tigers will wear this week? The all white shines bright at night….just sayin.

Just think if last years offense had the defense we have right now? ( A defense that is mostly the same players by the way………minus Harold Perkins)
