Anybody else missing that 2:30/3:30 Prime time slot on CBS back in the day for the top SEC

I didn’t mind it once it got past the time change. Most of the 2nd halves were under the lights.

I miss it nostalgically, but I do not miss it practically.
With that said, the 2:30 games in November (after daylight savings) have the best college football aesthetic in my opinion. Game kicks off with the sun up but not at the hottest part of the day, lights turn on somewhere around halftime, and the game ends with it being completely dark outside. That is peak timing for college football in my mind.

It was a lot better than playing at 11. Old school broadcasters were some of the best ever.

I loved it and miss it. I know a lot of people like to hate on the CBS broadcasts (Gary, too long, etc.) but nothing matched that "big game" feeling and I loved knowing all eyes were on the Tigers.

I will say that if you are driving for a few hours to get to the game and driving a few hours after the game 2:30 is pretty much the sweet spot.
However, the thought of sitting in the stadium at 2:30 is not appealing at all.

I for sure miss the intro music, that intro left no doubt that this was the biggest college football game that weekend.

The best years were the late 90’s thru about 2010.
First pick - CBS; although I saw lots of Florida and Tennessee games
Second pick - ESPN
Third pick - Jefferson Pilot
Forth pick and my favorite and maybe at one time it was third — 8 pm. Death Valley shook on many of these. See Mississippi State 2000.

Danielson didn't bother me.
That aside, while I DO NOT miss the 2:30 home games in Sept/early Oct, I very much miss CBS's production value. The game felt bigger and more drama-filled on CBS than it does on ABC/ESPN, where it now just feels very generic. Maybe that was because it was the "big" game of the week and the SEC was the only conference with big games on CBS. But I enjoyed the games on CBS and hated to see them go to ESPN

About the only thing I miss about those days was how much LSU showed up in the video intro to that game, along with that iconic music track.

I miss it. Say what you will about Gary Danielson, but the production quality is unmatched. Go back and watch the final quarter of LSU-Auburn 2018. You feel like you are in the stadium. The sounds, the camera quality, it's like a movie. ESPN (even the primetime spot) is such shite compared to CBS.
Plus, in October and November, I prefer the 2:30pm slots. The second half is either fully shaded or the sun is setting, it's quite nice.

Definitely don't miss it at 1 bid. So glad that now the major time slot for major games is night time with ESPN and ABC CBS for their 2:30 kickoff or sorry to hang out a game with all the commercials. What should be at most 3-hour game would be 4 and 1/2 hours seems like
