he had just come off of knee surgery and was basically playing injured

Maybe that explains it because he had played pretty well in the other games. But if he wasn't ready to play, was that our best option?

I spy with my little eye: two positive Coach Stud posts in one thread. WTF is the rant coming to?

I've come to the realization that for whatever reason, we will never have a full compliment of 'best options' on the OL at any given time.

Is that true? Didn't know that unnamed RT had surgery.

Yes, but I think I am more concerned with the defense.

Regardless of what you think of Stud, he's got to do a better job of coaching the OL when he's not having to be the OC.

Williford at center? I'm just wondering how effective a 6ft 7in long legged linemen would be at center. I know pj was tall bit they had different body types. Williford is still a all sec caliber guard. I think he has a fight with turner over who starts at right guard vs. tcu.

Im just relaying that he was practicing snaps. Im assuming he will cross strain at center so he has more opportunity at pt if he doesnt start at guard.

We also need to stay healthy, or the line will continue to be reshuffled during the season.

No he's not. He played a lot last year

This, and I thought Porter played very well. Quick, and great technique. Would love to see him with a couple more pounds.

No more Josh D. is the best news yet. He was always a favorite of the coaches, knowledgable, but really struggled in a major way last season against the SEC's quick, athletic defensive ends. I know many other tackles on other teams also struggled, but Josh D. appeared useless so much of the time, despite putting forth a good effort.

Depends on who you ask. Stud has his fans, but I personally believe LSU can and should do better for an OL coach. Many posters believe he is a BBQ buddy of Miles, which seems down his alley.

To me, experienced depth is the issue. Neither size nor talent seem to be lacking.

Is Edinburgh really 6'8"? Maybe JJ should have given him a look at PF.

I'm worried about fundamentals and the ability of Coach Stud to improve the O-Line. You gotta figure he wasn't fired because he couldn't find another job so accepted the demotion. I'm glad we have physical freaks though.

Our OL is one of our strongest areas. The DL is the concern.

Not a fan of Williford but I see him getting one of the G spots. Yes, Oline is a concern. We have a really bad habit of seeing our lineman regress as they age under Stud too.
