I hear that LSU officials are going to offer to play here and the ticket proceeds will go to the relief fund. The ADs are going to talk Monday.

That would be a classy move, and I'm sure much appreciated in Alabama.

I know baseball doesn't really matter during all this for Alabama but that might save LSU's season getting to play at home instead of on the road where they can't win.

Talk here in Bama is that it might be in Hoover or even Montgomery. The biscuits (crappy name) aren't playing home next weekend. We drove to Tuscaloosa today and my mouth just dropped in awe. Thankfully, the UA campus was spared. Some a-hole on the OT was banned when the tornado was nearing the campus. That dipshit was hoping that the campus would get leveled. You have many kids living in dorms while attending summer school. Some so called LSU fans are really an embarrassment. I just hope that the s.o.b. that posted that crap is a kid. To wish death and destruction is pitiful. He didn't say that he wanted anybody to die, but wishing that the whole campus gets leveled will result in the loss of many lives.

I know a lot of LSU fans that would pay extra for a ticket if this happened. The Box would be PACKED.

This was written at the end of today's game story on Alabama's website...it seems to indicate that, as of now, Tuscaloosa will be the host site of the games next weekend

quote:

Alabama returns to the field on Friday, May 6 when it hosts LSU for game one of a three-game Southeastern Conference series, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CT from Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Game two will also be at 6:35 p.m. and will be televised on CSS, and the series wraps up on Sunday with a 1:05 start.

Biscuits have a beautiful stadium, FWIW. And Dreamland BBQ is right across the street.
Always try to catch a game when I'm at Maxwell.

Condolences to all the victims in Bama. Heard today that some Katrina survivors were in Tuscaloosa helping out. That's what it's all about.

Official decision has been made to play in Tuscaloosa

Saturday game that had been scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m. now will start at 3:05 p.m. The game still will be televised by CSS.

The Friday and Sunday games will start as originally scheduled at 6:35 p.m. and 1:05 p.m., respectively.

That is totally uncalled for. Whether it was a kid or an adult that is totally wrong. All SEC schools have fans like that, sadly. But the sad thing is, if it was some kid, he/she probably learned to think that way from his/her parents.

And I too would pay 20 or 25 bucks per ticket to help out the cause, whether it was played here or in Hoover. So many LSU fans have missed games at Alabama in recent years b/c tickets weren't available. If they played in Hoover, we could easily make that drive and would pay for higher-than-normal-priced tickets to see the Tigers and Tide play.
