Odd. That one picture looks similar to the one here.

I went to the game last week and I have to say: It was quite the learning experience. I know, you can't extrapolate what I saw to hundreds of thousands of Bama fans across the world, but the ones that made the trek to Nola were quite despicable. I witnessed things that literally made me feel like I was in the twilight zone. Bama fans from the ages of 18-65 saying and doing things that made me cringe. One common theme I noticed was none of the other supposed "classy" Bama fans you speak of would step in to stop it. Like this incident, they stood there, cheered it on, and took pictures.
quote:
Another fascinating thing to me were the women. They would sit there and literally encourage the behavior by laughing about it. Actions my wife would be humiliated over, these women would laugh or take pictures. Again, I'm not talking about college-aged kids in this video either. I'm talking 30 and over. And I also witnessed "parents" doing things in front of their kids as well. It really amazed me.
So do you have any specific examples or are you just gonna post "they're despicable" and "their behavior was unbelievable" and "parents doing things" and "it was like the twilight zone". I mean, exactly WTF were they doing that had you so appalled?

Another thread for another day my friend.
Besides, if I wrote it all out, you'd reply "TL:DR" or some other stupidity.
I violated my own rules for this thread already and now it is anchored despite being so close to IDing the perp.
I did not intend for the thread to take this turn.
I assure you, I have great stories from my 24 hours in NOLA last week. I really can't thank your bretheren enough for the perspective it provided to me.

Certainly there are fans on either side of the "bell curve" when it comes to idiocy, lewdness, or whatever. It's the 80% in the middle that make up the "core" or the essence of the fan base and core Bama fans love this. You know it will be on T-shirts in Tuscaloosa before Mardi Gras.
Grew up in LA but now live in AL and I will tell you from close observation, there is a HUGE difference between Bama fans and the rest of humanity. However, most people think that it's the ignorant rednecks that are the most offensive and the opposite is true. Those with money (supposed upper middle class) and a Bama pedigree are the WORST.
The kid that shot the video and the sportscaster's son who was the wannabe teabagger come from Mobile society -- the meanest, cliqueish bunch there are. It's an environment of people who snub and bully their way through life. They are the ANTITHESIS of southern Louisiana folks.
Sure, the teabagger is a POS, but the others cheering and standing by, AND FILMING, are just as culpable. I hope they all get what they deserve.

Hey dbag, I've never poisoned any fukn trees and I've never pulled my junk out and rubbed it on someone. I've been to hundreds of Alabama games from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Georgia to Ole Miss to Shreveport to New Orleans. And I've never witnessed Bama fans doing anything more than what any other fanbases do. In case you haven't heard LSU's fanbase has quite the national reputation. So you can get off that donkey you think is a high horse.

Congrats. The Alabama fan base sure has though.

Today is the day that young Brian gets the fame he so craves.
Congrats Brian.
Looks like you might be "vacationing" in Louisiana soon.

how is it that no where on any Bama message boards is this topic being discussed?
Germans indeed, as in Nazi administrators or teabagging is just a normal weekend activity at Sunday dinner.

I could not find a thread about it on tidefans. They only allow sunshine pumping there though.

Saw it earlier but TuscaloosaNews.com has since whacked the pic. If you think it sucks to be that guy then think how his wife must feel. Will suck for his kid too. Why do I suddenly find myself feeling sorry for the guy?

He lost his job. Deadspin got him and claims an Auburn fan outted him.

He's probably going to lose more than just his job. His life is probably ruined.
It's not like this was some spur of the moment drunken stunt by a college kid. Dude is something like 33 years-old, married and has a kid. I mean how damn stupid can someone be?

I am glad the guy turned himself in. How does one get a college degree yet the best they can do is get a job as a manager at a shoe store?
