I live in Waco, they had a parade a few years back for Baylor homecoming and they Liberty Bowl champions marched as honored guests. I hear about that game constantly and it makes me chuckle.
We have played in 20 bowl games since then an Baylor has played in six

Anybody go to the LSU Wyoming Sugar Bowl? I made 5 bucks when Penn State beat LSU in 73. But 2 girls I went to High School with called me and picked on me. They were Penn State and me LSU. They reminded me at out 40th reunion.

Hey 2 girls called me I was in heaven

I was there and definitely one of the worst bowl games I have ever been to. To me. Cholly Mac's 1978 bowl game against Mizzou in the Liberty Bowl was better than that game and that is saying alot. I dont know how many bowl games I ve been too . First was on New Year's eve at the Sun Bowl when Bill Walsh and Stanford took it to us , , I believe Guy Benjamin was their QB and we had Woodley and

Ensminger but it seemed that Mac relied a little too heavy on the defense that day. Anyway agreed that the game against Baylor in the Liberty Bowl was the worst that Ive been at but I was not at the rain game against PSU in the Capitol One Bowl nor was I at the MNC against Bama, so I havent been at the worst of all times.

Visiting my parents and they have this. The first things dad remembered were the punt return and that the players drove themselves to the game. And the miserable weather.

I was also in the band. The rehearsal the night before may have even been colder. UGH! Also, we stayed in some place called the Coach House Hotel, which was a crappy motor lodge. The guy at the desk said we were only a few blocks from Beale St, but it must have been at least a mile. Not the best walk.

Without good friends, the whole trip would have sucked.

I have missed attendning only two LSU bowql games since the 1960s. Tangerine Bowl in 1979 and the 1985 Liberty.

Arnsbarger's teams were 0-3 in bowls I think.

Was there and it was miserably cold. And like 91TIGER said, Cody Carlson. He picked us apart.

Started taping LSU games in 1982 and it was the only tape that I ever burned... it was so obvious that we did not want to be there. Yes, score was not as bad as we played... it was a horrible exhibition of LSU football.

I was at the 85 game. Worst game weather I ever attended (Miami game in Tiger Stadium was a close second). My wife still complains about the cold. Before the game a player told us to bet the house on Baylor.

I was there in one of the empty end zones. I believe the players drove there in order to collect the money that would have been used for their airfare. I also remember that there was no team Christmas dinner. Some players ate at a 7-11 I think. Beale Street was nothing like today. I remember going to the original Silky Sullivan's on Christmas night. Felt bad that Wick, Dalton and James went out like that.

Was there too and the lowest the temp got during the game was 35 degrees according to the next morning's newspaper, and that fits in with the game not being included in the list of coldest Liberty Bowl games on their own website, which lists all games where the temp was 36 degrees or below and the LSU-Baylor game didn't make the list. The newspaper probably picked up a different source for its 35 degree statement. Sometimes , a place just feels colder than it actually is.

My first LSU bowl game. Went with Mike Spence from Shreveport. Was cold game, disappointing. Enjoyed Jefferson's punt return. Thing I remember the most was the empty stadium and how TGBFTL did the pre-game routine and ended up at the totally empty end of the stadium .

I was there and it was a miserable experience. The weather was bad and the Tigers played poorly. I lost the most money I've ever lost on a college football game that day. In fact, while I've been in the stadium for other events, that was the first and the last Liberty Bowl for me.

I have a picture from the MISSOURI game in my office. It's beforehand, so we're all smiling, but the wind is blowing the pom-poms and we are all wrapped up. What I remember most about the game is the poor attendance. Small stadium, but not many people there. We were sitting behind the LSU bench. Probably the best seats I've ever had for an LSU game. Terrible day all around for our team.

I was at both games. Vs Mizzou was colder IMO, one of coldest I've been too.
