We're all just trying to read the tea leaves with this.

I admit I don't have a clue, and at different times suspected all three would be the starter.

Brennan, when he pulled out of the portal and came back this year.
Daniels, when he came out of the portal.
Nussmeier, when he got rave reviews in the spring.

Daniels again, when it was stated the WRs were working out with him over the summer. That, to me, seemed significant- it's almost always the starter that does that.

I don't have a favorite, simply want the best guy for the offense we run. I feel like it's Daniels right now... meaning that is who the coaches and other players are leaning towards.

I just want to see a full season of Brennan. He reminds me of Peyton Manning.

I honestly have no opinion on who starts. But I doubt that it’s close to over.

o me, all he has to really prove is that he can control the pace of a game. Because we already know the other 2 cannot.

All he has to do is prove he's not a 10 td, 10 int guy.
This staff will not take chances on that type of QB.

Apparently the coaching staff disagree. It’s as simple as that.

Well, except for the fact that Brian Kelly said after the practice that if Nuss was healthy, he would have been the first team QB.

Not sure why the Advocate is running with Daniels in light of that comment.

If he can make all the throws, I'm in. I don't want a running QB with a lesser arm, you can't win that way anymore and I'd be very disappointed if the LSU offense turned more conservative.

The spring game is meaningless
It’s so dumbed down scheme wise that a dual threat qb can’t show his entire skill set

Well, I’m glad Scott R. Knows what the LSU coaches don’t. Maybe he should become their next coach.

You just don't have a clue. As bad as a year he had in that dumpster fire, he would have been drafted by the NFL, if he chose that route. The last time he had NFL talent at receiver, his true freshman year he looked like and played like a first day pick.
Not SEC caliber? He hung 42 on that UCLA team that whipped our arse last year with a 94 QBR. You want to guess Myles QBR against those three cup cake games he played in? No where close to that try 45 against the average defense and in the 70's against bad ones comparable to the sun belt.

Yea he still is thought of highly by people who get paid to evaluate talent.

Not to say that you don't bring up good points in your post, but this guy is an ex-scout for the NY Jets. How bad do you have to be to be an ex-scout (assuming he was fired) for the Jets? Did you read the write up? He sounds like a clown.

"As a guy who looked Bill Belichick in the eyes and convinced him to hire me, let me say Daniels is superior to Lance in every way."

I just skimmed the article after reading that.

Kelly said Nuss would have shared the first team reps, he didn’t say Nuss would have gotten them over Daniels

I’m not exactly sold on Daniels being the best option for us, I would think it’d be Nuss or Brennan. But I trust BK and his staff to make the right decision. There’s a reason he’s one of the top coaches in the country.

Fat Scotty is like 3 days late. The rant and others have been on this. If Nuss is back soon this likely changes

If he's so much better in your opinion, then perhaps you can answer this...why hasn't he separated himself from the others?

We keep hearing how much he’s improved since the spring game. I should hope so, because he didn’t look good at all back then. I don’t care how fast he is, if he’s not an accurate passer he will struggle against SEC defenses. That said, I trust BK and his coaches. If they think that Daniels gives us the best chance to win, then so be it.

SPOT ON! I worry about his accuracy, and now in the SEC those windows are going to be smaller and he is going to have better athletes also collapsing the pocket and running him down. Our QB needs to be able to drive the ball downfield (NOT dink & dunk) with accurate passes to play-makers in space and in tight coverages. All-in if he can do that.
