Hopefully he will work on his stance and motion on his swing. Off balance.

He will get it and when he does...he will get his payday.

This is incorrect.

ETA:

Not sure why this is being downvoted. He verbally committed to LSU while Paul was coach, then decommitted when he "retired", then re-committed and signed after we hired Jay and Jay made it a point to re-recruit him.

Hate that it didn’t work out for him here, but he was probably taking up a lot of scholarship too. It’s his money year and we need to add some guys with some thump.

The writing was on the wall. Freshmen were playing ahead of him.

Paxton is an incredible defensive player with an average arm and can hit a fastball in the zone well.

He can't hit breaking balls and can't lay off high fastballs at his eyes. It is what it is. If you can't hit you can't play for LSU. I hope he turns the corner. I really do. He helped us win a natty

I did not want this one. He's probably going to get lasik this summer and then bat over 350 next season.

Probably because he

Players need game reps to get better. And it's hard to get reps when there are other guys just as good or better. This is probably a good move for Paxton to go somewhere and be an every day CF to reach more of his very high potential.

It's tough because he's an elite player in the making, it's just a matter of when (if?) he puts it all together.

Until then, his next year here would look like this past year here.

How far down does he have to go to see guaranteed playing time? That's the question.

He could do a Louisville or East Carolina and end up in the same position there he was here this year.

It's a tough call.

No. You have to be an idiot to want Kling to leave. He's the fastest player on the team. He's the best defensive outfielder we have by a large margin. His bat improved in the second half of the season in his limited time playing. He hasn't lived up to the hype, but he certainly has the potential to be really good.

He's a two tool player and that isn't the making of anything elite. He's fast and has some power in his bat. That's really it.

Good riddance. Now we won’t have to waste another season of him getting forced into the lineup.

Great defensive player as well.

He looks lost at the plate, but when/if it clicks, he’ll be a very high draft pick.

But I get him wanting guaranteed ABs next season. Doesn’t have that here.

Defense is also a tool, and an important one as a center fielder

I understand why Jay didn’t play him much down the stretch but his natural talent is obvious

It’s funny people still say this.

What you don’t know so far, is the 5 tools are hitting, power, running, arm strength and fielding. He hasn’t shown any hitting, his strength hasn’t translated to in game power, but he’s got the running, arm strength and defense. If he can figure out how to make contact, his power will improve with it. It’s a big if, but there are plenty of players with high potential, but flawed games. He’s worth a roster spot, so I doubt he was processed.

This is incorrect

It's incorrect that they MAY end up there? You know what that sentence implies? That they may not end up there. Are you saying that they will neither end up there nor not end up there?

Or was your post a sneaky way of pointing out that "might" was the word to use rather than "may"?

It's incorrect in that he didn't sign with LSU when Paul Mainieri was the head coach.
