My wife wanted ours in mid-September. I finally got through to her, and in the end, we did it in August and were back from the honeymoon in time for the opening game. I won't attend a Saturday wedding during football season.

Just got an invite to a wedding on Oct 1, same as the Missouri game (also homecoming).

WTF were they thinking?

You picked the right user name. You had better remain nameless. Clown

Had my wedding on Friday, Sept 16, 2011, that was the day after that Thursday night game at MSU. We had the rehearsal dinner in the Wine Cellar of the Chimes and watched the Moo St game in there.

Friday night weddings are a bigger dick move than putting them on football Saturdays.

Nothing pisses me off more than this. In a friend's wedding in Chicago. He's from Baton Rouge and went to LSU Med School.

Tempted to skip the wedding and drive up to Green Bay.

Ive got a buddy who no longer talks to another friend because he didnt go to his wedding because it was during the LSU-Bama game

Ha this is great. My wood stood in a wedding on the Bama game in 2015. I didn't go. I still am not liked by that friend.

Always shocked when people (especially LSU/SEC graduates!) do this when they live in the south.

I married a Virginia girl October of 2006, which was SUPPOSED to have been during LSU's open date, but it ended up being during the Kentucky game no thank to my Greek Bitch in Law. Just more proof that Virginia is NOT the south and I still will never forgive my wife or Bitch in Law for it!

Hey! I'm from Virginia! The cutoff is about south of Fredericksburg. Anything north of that culturally is very different. But a lot of Virginia is very much the south, not to mention it was the home of the capital of the confederacy.

That's why my wedding was in the middle of July. We had a huge turnout, nearly everyone we invited showed up because there was literally nothing else going on at the time.

Do you mean travel wedding? Explain please? I like them. I drive/fly to the wedding Friday. Fly/Drive home Friday night. LSU Saturday. What am I missing?

I worked at a bakery at one time, not every game, but you could tell when a big game would be that weekend. You would go from like 20 wedding cakes the weekend before, to zero that weekend. It is really funny how people really do plan their stuff around football season.
