So Davis and Patrick going to defensive substitutes I'm assuming.

OF has some serious size and bat/power skills

Outfield going to be crowded af now.

Crowded?

Jay replaced Curiel, Stanfield, and Brown
with
Watters, Wachs, and Laya.

Jay only played William Patrick when Jake got injured. Hopefully Patrick develops his bat enough to get in some weekday work. But I doubt he can do enough to hold off Nate Davis.

Davis will have to outplay Wachs to earn his time. He just might pull it off.

i think he has potential for sure

once again, this myth on here that players can't get better is asinine

i definitely think patrick will hit at least one homer

A lot of posters on this site said LSU would rely on the incoming freshman and returning players and only dabble in the portal. Good times.

Coach got shell shocked temporarily due to the portal signings that bombed last year. Glad he held the line, because there had been nothing wrong with his portal process. Just the results.

The infield and outfield is looking pretty stacked.

on the pitching side that is correct. They’ll probably add 1 more LHP and be done.

We had like 1 full time starter returning in and 2 freshmen who played after some injuries

Jay said Milam had talked about coming back but he also couldn’t get caught without a SS.

We had 1 returning OF with any playing time and then everyone else on the roster or coming in was a draft risk.

I like that we have a few options for the OF.

I expect Bino to transition well but Waschs, Alaya, and obviously Davis are make a big step up in competition.

And Patrick needs to step up his play to be an every day player

The Big10 and AAC are both very respectable baseball conferences.

But as we have learned since the portal has been alive, there is no correlation to SEC performance based on previous competition. It is player-dependent. There are no statistical patterns to predict success.
