If he was so up Miles, he wouldn't be contributing to the problem by focusing on and going to Bama.

Saban: Dylan?
Moses: Yes coach?
Saban: Send "the text" now, please.
Moses: Which one?
Saban: you know, the one that tries to guilt lsu fans back into keeping miles. That's what we all want for our program. We discussed this.

Saban: (hangs up and snickers to self while looking at map of the sec. Draws red x thru La.)

That read like, "Look, someone will take you to the dance. Seriously, you're great. It's just that I already promised this other guy I would go with him."

Sounds like a bright and thoughtful kid. However, let's be clear-he is not "part of the family" until he is part of the family.I started going to games in 1973. I graduated from the University. I write checks to the University. I buy tickets from the University. I will send my kids to the University. Until he is part of the family, he's just a 17 year old kid that likes Les Miles (as I do) and enjoys being photographed wearing Alabama gear.

So Miles failed to get a top recruit sitting in his own backyard. And we are supposed to WANT to look the other way and say that is not a problem we want our coach to be Miles?

Miles failing to get some of the top recruits from our own state the last few years is part of the problem.

This kid is talking about rebuilding while we have been losing MORE games each year and just had the first 3 loss skid since 1999.

Maybe this kid wants Miles at LSU BECAUSE he is going to Bama.

I agree. But is LSU bigger than an Elite 11 QB AND the #1 player? What about those two and others? What about others and some of the best position coaches in the game? The dominos are about to fall.
I'm not sure what side you're even on here, but I stand by my statement. If LSU decides it's future is best without Miles, then we don't let a 17 year old dictate that decision.

Before the three losses, people weren’t talking about firing him because LSU was undefeated.

He does not know nega fans too well. They have been waiting since day one for this moment to arrive.

Well, that's enlightening. Even recruits acknowledge tDecline? They are being sold on being part of a "rebuild"?

Every team is the in the process of being rebuild..and yes, players WANT to be in that process.

Moses has been recruited by Miles since he was in 8th grade, plays ball with Manny, claims to be friends with all of his kids, and yet he decommitted and is likely Bama bound. He has no room to talk and comes off as a hypocrite.

Who cares what he thinks? If he loved LSU and coach Miles so much, why didn't he stay committed? At the end of the day, I'm fine with losing him and 10 more just like him if that's what it takes to pry Les Miles hands off the chock hold he has on LSU football.

I mean, even though I de-committed from LSU, it was only for me to explore and view my options, but I still have love for the school no matter what. I just hate how the media is bashing coach Miles like that. I’m friends with all of his kids, and I also played alongside his son Manny Miles, so I actually have a real relationship with the man. I just wish they’d give him some slack.

None of this means anything.

But this is important:
quote:

last time LSU had an 11-win season was in 2011. They’ve lost a lot since then. Honestly I think they’re doing a great job as far as the rebuilding process goes. I think maybe next season they’ll be ready.

It's telling that part of his "cut Miles some slack" routine is saying that we've been disappointing since 2011. That's 4 seasons in a row of pretty solid disappointment. It's not like (rational) people are making up the decline...it's very real and very tangible, so much so that this recruit can see it and admit it.

Coaching is about winning games at a place like LSU...and winning the right games/playing for the right titles. If we were competing for NCs or even the SEC year in adn year out, that would be one thing. But we aren't. And recently, we aren't even close. And that's what Miles is paid to do.

It's completely fair to appreciate Miles for his accomplishments here, while simultaneously recognizing that it's time to change things up. And it's not like he won't be paid fricking HANDSOMELY for leaving.

He knows Alabama is a better program. You can't blame him, really.
