Revisiting this now but I recall Miriam Segar & Sharon Lewis being more in the wrong with that ordeal than Verge was. He served a suspension for it and figured it was behind them after that.
didn’t tell the cops or anyone else. He handled it as poorly as possible

So let me get this straight
Rousse removes Verge's interim tag because he's a yes-man and we're scrambling to not look incompetent in order to hire a HC
Rousse then learns after the fact about Verge's involvement in the cover-ups
Rousse then backtracks the interim-removal because he wants to separate himself from the Verge hire now that his transgressions are back in the news cycle
This is all within 24 hours of Rousse being named LSU system president
