Am I right that we are 5 wins from Omaha at this point?

In 4 of those 5 games we would have Gage & Holman starting if that is correct!

If we can keep swinging it like we are & playing with confidence, I like our chances.

Yes. That's why no one wants to see us in their regional.

Now that we're in, we're a threat to get to Omaha.

At the conclusion of the SEC Tournament, we will be 5 wins away from Omaha as long as you win first 2 games of the regional.

This is the real (and only) answer to why it's better to be a 2 seed than a 3 seed.

that’s a beautiful way of looking at it. Jump and Holman have been lights out and this is the time of year our bullpen shows up. If they’re hot at the right time next weekend then we can absolutely make a return trip to Omaha.

I’m excited to watch this team in regional play

ETA Getting flashbacks to our Omaha run last year now. Played 8 games in 10 days against 3 of the best teams in the country and capped it off with a title. That was such a fun couple weeks.

With such a disparity between our 2nd and 3rd pitcher, a regional seems to be a tougher ask than a super for this team.

Genuine question. How much does the regional seeding weigh in that decision? I know in the past, both teams would submit a bid for the Super. I was always under the impression (maybe assumption) the overall bid package was more important than 2/3 seed.

I've been joking with my friends for a couple weeks now that we're going to host a Super.

Possibly false. If we win 3-4 more SEC conf tourney games we may host a regional. We host and win a regional we may host a super.

A lot. If we advance as a 3 seed and the opposing national seed loses to the 2, it would probably go to that 2 seed

If we are a 2, then it would be up to the highest bidder and we ain't getting outbid

As is every team that makes the field of 64. But yes....we are!

You're also correct that the combo of Jump and Holman is just about as good as the one/two of anyone in the country right now.

I don't know how long this will last, but I'm truly glad this team had one more run left in them. Shows a lot of fight.

Even better from the optimist side is after this week if you can go 10-0 then you win the whole thing and jump and Holman pitch 8 of the 10….just need them to go deep every outing and then find a way to win 1 in regional without them and 1 in Omaha without them
