No Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr to protect Nuss. Not to mention the interior OL was terrible this year. OC needs to build his plays around that.

Moscona is making it sound as if one of the safeties we are targeting is playing this Saturday in the playoffs.

Hope he's right, but Moscona has no sources and is usually just full of shite.

Will need Nuss to make the big step up year 2 but if he does I don’t see why we can’t go all the way

My expectations, after 3 years with Kelly are very high. This is his team 100% and the results need to meet the expectation or it might be time to move on.

4 years is enough time at LSU to put together a championship team.

No reason to not expect at least a trip to the natty

We have talented tackles on the roster and I think the IOL issues were largely due to poor center play. Get a good center and that is the glue for the OL.

If Nuss incorporates running into his game, yes

It's reasonable to think the defense will be better. It's reasonable to think Nussmeier will be better in his second season. However, the schedule is less favorable this season with road games @ Alabama, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma, as well as a true road game @ Clemson instead of a neutral site game.

My biggest concern is the OC. Yes, the total yards were good. But there were a LOT of "empty" yards relative to the points scored. The play calling was often predictable and lacked creativity. You can get away with that more when you have two NFL caliber WRs who can win the overwhelming majority of one-on-one matchups and a QB who can turn almost ANY play (run or pass) into a 30 yard gain even when the defense does everything right.

Could LSU win a NC? Sure. Odd years have been good for LSU (01, 03, 07, 11, 19). But if Sloan remains the OC I'll take a more "wait and see" approach

Could be another 5-10 roster changes before the season starts.

All I know is that there will be one of two reactions based on the outcome of game 1:

"We won and we are going to the ship!"

"We lost, fire Kelly and burn it all down!"

There is no in-between.

We are a lot closer to that possibility than we were a month ago.

I truly believe that we have good enough players at every position to make a run.

We will find out right off the bat. Clemson is a tough environment to play but anytime you have an upperclassmen at QB, it increases a team's chances on the road.

Clemson is likely to return a lot of experience as well especially if Cade Klubnik returns for his senior year which he probably will do. Win at Clemson & we were definitely cooking.

The additions out of the portal have definitely been nice but the shape of the roster is not complete yet with this round of the portal still being open & another round in the sspring. As with any championship aspirations, those could be derailed by injuries. Gotta hope injuries are on the lower end & not to key contributors.

It’s portal ball, we’ll see what type of players we got. We’ve had great players come from the portal and we’ve had bad players.

Any team that makes it to the playoffs has a legitimate shot. And I think LSU makes it in the playoffs this year. Aside from stubbing our toe with USC and losing to FL, that puts us at 10-2. (We were never in the game vs Bama or TAMU) but USC and FL were winnable games that we just didn’t close out. I don’t see the Tigers making that mistake next year.

I’ll wait to see what happens in the opening Clemson game before I get my hopes up to much.
