I was about to tell you that #9 VA Tech was overhyped in 2007, but they’re very similar to this years FSU. Have an upvote.

They finished the regular season 10-2 & won the ACC Championship.

So no, you’re not crazy to think that it’s possible for LSU to beat a good FSU team by 30+, but I expect a close game.

I'm thinking win by 10 late. Our Dline is greatly improved. As is our LB corp. JD will also be better and our O line is one of the best in the SEC this year. QB pressure will be the key to this game. If they can get to the Travis then he won't be able to make the big plays deep on our young DB's.

Y’all say this every year for the opener and we’ve lost the last 3

FSU should be favored honestly.

Well they do fall below 50% on the blue chip ratio so I’d imagine that’s why. LSU is 71% I think.

And they all disappear until the following year and start all over

A thread was posted about this last year too.

Same with UCLA in 2021.

Whoops.

The VaTech game was the birth of the Chainsaw Werewolves meme, so that's a lot to live up to.

But it'd be great to see!

Yes you are crazy, but even crazy people are right sometimes. Let's hope this is one of those times.

The Noles will be good, but if we had played a cupcake during week 1 and THEN FSU, it would have been a W.

Why do so many people on this board act as if this is a fact?

And yes, you're crazy. What specifically makes you think that we will blowout FSU besides your gut feeling?

I think the game is going to be close but if our Special Teams can be a weapon this time then it can be 2-3 score game similarly to LSU vs Oregon to open the season in 2011.

If LSU can keep their QB running and not able to set up in the passing game, then yeah. But if he has time in the pocket, FSU is going to score a lot points.

I don’t know about a VT ‘07 but I think it will be a dominant game for LSU. I think even with the earlier game last year FSU barely beat LSzu and probably shouldn’t have. LSU lost in my opinion due to big mistakes in the ST part of the game.

I believe LSU has taken a huge leap in the offense compared to last year and probably in the D, too. I am pretty sure that LSU will not make 3+major mistakes in ST including a blocked extra point. FSU has also made a leap but I don’t think it is as big as LSU, particularly on O. LSU will be hard to control on offense this year. IMO they will be almost impossible to hold back by even a good defense. In addition to being strong they will be very versatile.
