Am I crazy for thinking LSU can pull an 07 VaTech on FSU this year?

The Noles will be good, but if we had played a cupcake during week 1 and THEN FSU, it would have been a W.

My thoughts on this game have wavered a bunch, mostly because the game is in Florida. However, LSU played pretty damn good in that stadium last time out. I’m a believer in Daniels and his ability to spread the ball around. I have no reason to think our defense will be any worse than last season in the opener.

I’m starting to think this could be a big statement win to open the year.

ETA - yes, I know Moo State was the opener in 2007, but it was a Thursday night and State sucked arse. VT was THE matchup to get things started.

Yes that's crazy. A dominant win would be considered anything in double digits against them. We aren't beating them by 40.

Wait for it wait for it wait for it

Only because Daniels will throw 10yd’s or less the whole game.

I’m not necessarily suggesting a 48-7 score, but something like 34-10 in a blowout manner.

It's because you're a fan and your emotions are overwhelming logic.

It's going to be a close game. Maybe it's blowout but they keep the lights on in Vegas for a reason. There's a reason why the spread is less than a FG

It is college football so most options are on the table, but I don't see that kind of outcome as very likely. I don't think UT was four touchdowns better than us last year, but it did happen, in part because we went super aggressive in response to our mistakes.

That said, I think this will be a very competitive game. I don't think LSU's roster is yet so talented 1-85 that I would expect the kind of thorough waxing that Va Tech got in 2007. I would expect something along the lines of the game last year in terms of margin and competitiveness.

Yes. It's going to be a slugfest.

Jordan Travis
Trey Benson
Jared Verse
Keon Coleman
Johnny Wilson

Returned 88% of their roster

FSU should be favored honestly.

Yes but it still wasn’t the opener. I doubt LSU is clicking on all cylinders by game two like they were then.

That 2007 team when healthy would probably beat this LSU team by 3 scores.

They keep the lights on by keeping bets even on both sides. That way they win no matter what happens. The line reflects bettors' sentiments and has no predictive value.

If what you’re saying happens, LSU cruises to the SEC Championship and the National Championship. FSU is a legitimate top 10 team and possibly top 5 team.

I don’t see it. We will be extremely lucky to win by more than 10 and I think it might be even closer.

If we get a couple of big turnovers and/or a kick/punt return TD.... and a couple of busted explosive plays for TD's.... maybe.

But understand - these guys are good. They won 10 games last year for a reason. And they brought most of their team back, JUST LIKE US.

Sept 3 should be a dogfight.
