We are hitting some insanely high popups.

That’s bat speed folks. You don’t hit the ball 300 feet straight up with mediocre bat speed. And to do that in big time pressure situations shows you what these guys have lurking just beneath the surface.

Keep doubting. You look like fools.

It’s wild the anount of pop ups. Half of them could be hit a tad better and we’d have like 6-8 more runs

We left a lot of runners on and hit a lot of balls hard last night. The 11 walks is way more concerning.

Yeah, well, it's the postseason and it needs to be at the surface now. It wasn't.

And is extremely unlikely to be repeated with Evan’s and Cowan eating up innings

Yes, 11 walks that’s a coaching and pitching execution problem. Pull the trigger CJJ. How many base runners were left on base. 2nd and 3rd innings bases were left loaded for sure.

If the guys in slumps would just trying to go to the opposite field, I think they would benefit greatly.

This is about more than just going the other way with it or "hitting where it's thrown" approach.

Biggest example: Jones, who is obviously struggling the most, went oppo his first AB yesterday. He got very lucky that ball found grass. The rest of his ABs he looked plain lost.

The players who have struggled recently

Curiel - on fire
Milam - on fire
Braswell - takes good at-bats but is having trouble obviously
Jones - blindfolded in the woods is a better scenario than how he looks at the plate

Everyone else has been relatively consistent.

We're a small ball team trying to mash bombs.

It's infuriating to watch.

Honestly, your statement is close. But they’d be better off slowing down their bat speed and trying to string together hits rather than trying to hit the ball 450’. The pop ups are coming from over aggressive swings. A couple of base hits swing the pendulum completely, yesterday. Instead they have 300 ft vertical pop ups.

He's 1 for his last 22 and has zero walks in that stretch. he has a couple of sacrifice bunts. If we don't have runners on base with less than 2 outs, Braswell is completely worthless at the plate

Yes, 11 walks that’s a coaching and pitching execution problem.

5 of those walks were in the last two innings with Rizy and Mayers. Neither of those dudes throw last night if we didn't stop hitting after the first inning. Shores had 3 walks. He struck out the first two batters he faced in the 2nd inning. There was no reason to have somebody ready to go in the third. When someone starts an inning with three straight walks, it's tough to have someone ready to take over before that happens. The way Shores had pitched lately and how he started the game yesterday, there was no reason to believe the wheels would fall off for him so drastically.

How many base runners were left on base. 2nd and 3rd innings bases were left loaded for sure.

This was why we lost the game. Our 2-5 hitters didn't get a hit after the first inning and our 8 and 9 hole hitters didn't reach base the entire game. When you have three guys (Curiel, Milam, and Hernandez) account for 90% of your offensive output for a game, you're going to have problems.

Pull the trigger CJJ

Pearson pinch hit for Brown in the 4th inning. Larson pinch hit for Braswell in the 5th inning. Almost every hitter on the postseason roster had an AB last night
