Apparently I’ve never been to Oregon even though I was born and raised there?

So you are choosing to be this dumb? You know how often (not how much) it rains in the Pacific Northwest.

I’m dumb because I posted weather stats.

Ok.

Comparing rain fall stats to Oregon is irrelevant. Even though yes we get more rain overall in one year in Louisiana it doesn’t rain everyday from October to April like Corvallis.

The ESPN announcer said that while fielding a call from a young kid calling into the radio station, Tug McGraw answered his question honestly.

“Mr McGraw, do you prefer grass or AstroTurf?”

“I’ve never smoked AstroTurf!”

Don’t know how true it is, but it’s epic in baseball lore!

That's about as subtle of a brag as you usually get from a travel ball dad

Lol, My kid is not very good, but he enjoys it. I do know that we played at traction a few weeks ago and that tournament would have been called on Sunday morning at any grass park around here.

1) Turf fields absolutely need maintence. Especially in damp climates. They actually can be more dangerous.

More dangerous? Hmmm, that's a new one I haven't heard before.

3) Turf fields hold water too unless you have a drainage system. If you have a drainage system the grass would be just a playable as turf. In these freak monsoon conditions y’all want to bring up everything would be unplayable.

You absolutely know nothing that you speak of. You are very, very wrong.

"unless you have a drainage system", duh.

Two reasons not to have turf fields.

1. Turf burns

2. This picture...'nuff said.

Compacted clay on a properly maintained field will destroy you on slides as well. Turf has pros and cons but far more pros.

Both teams have to play on it.....

LSU needs to pu on big bob pants and play hard, bunt well, play smart, run base paths smart and HIT...

I’ll never understand the rants hatred of turf fields.
Is grass better? Of course.
But there are pros of having a turf field.
