Here we have that rare TAMU opponent when "gig 'em" actually makes some sense.

Neither Aleva nor PM whined for a Saturday start time. They requested a Saturday start time and were granted one. We requested a Saturday start before we even knew that we were playing ULL in a super regional, so I'm not sure how that gives us some type of advantage. And honestly, the reason is was granted likely had more to do with the fact that UCLA was knocked out than anything PM or Aleva said, but I know this isn't the answer you are looking for.

How in the holy hell can they host a regional but not super? Literally the biggest deal in their schools athletic history and they have a "conflict"? That conflict can pound dirt...

They play their homes games at a minor league ballpark. The minor league team is in town this week.

Something tells me they never even dreamed they'd have a chance at hosting a super regional.

Tourney is really light on west coast teams this year.

Look at the brackets. LSU's side of the bracket for Omaha all have Saturdat starts. The other side has Friday starts. It has nothing to do with Aleva or LSU.

Have they done this Split start before (half start Friday, other half Saturday)? Is there a rhyme or reason to which supers start on which day?

Here's a picture bracket view. I accidentally cut off a couple teams but they aren't in it anymore anyway. I like the way this lays it out.

11 am for all the Miami games. Damn, I was hoping to go catch a night game.

Anyone have a guess to who starts Sunday if we win on Saturday? I'm assuming we save Poche for game three if we need him.

Full rest for Poche would be Monday, another reason to save him after a near-complete game. Winning on Saturday would give us more pitching options, and I'm thinking Bain would get a lot of innings on Sunday in that case, either as the starter or in relief behind someone like Reynolds.

Thanks man and great work in the game threads. You make it easy to follow when I'm stuck in class

No problem. I know the feeling, I've had to follow games on here quite a few times, even this year.

It's usually based on TV or if a regional finishes extremely late they'll work with that side to start later...usually.

The (left side) Friday and (right side) Saturday start times put teams on that same schedule when they start in Omaha next Saturday and Sunday.
