re: WBB 8-12 overall, 6-8 SEC, 8th place in year 10, Nikki decision is easy - BLyonsTiger
We really need someone who is a strong recruiter (talent has been very down over the years) and someone with a more modern philosophy offensively.
Who are some candidates that would meet this criteria? I don’t follow WBB much so I’m not familiar with the up and coming coaches....

re: Stargazing the Superbowl - BLyonsTiger
The numbers show that 5 stars work out for LSU at a high rate too. People just remember the 5 star busts way more than the 4 star busts. Let’s take a look at the 5 start players in the classes from 2007 to 2016 and see how many were drafted. That will give us a 10 period where all the recruits a...

re: Bud Foster - BLyonsTiger
I know a guy that talks with Bud every now and again. From what he has told me, Bud is done with coaching for good and is loving retirement. Not that this is surprising info at all. ...

re: 5 stars really only matter if you play either lube of scrimmage - BLyonsTiger
No one talks about Trevor Lawrence being the highest rated QB coming out of high school and still is leaving college. They just say he is an extremely talented player. One of the first things brought up every time someone talks about Justin Jefferson is he was a 3 star recruit.
Add...

re: Promising QB stats in 2020 - BLyonsTiger
For sure, but if he can’t even get decent efficiency with the same playbook then we need someone else to run it. For reference, we were 57th in 3rd down conversions and 119th in red zone TD percentage in 2018. Ensminger is just not great at calling plays in the red zone....

re: Promising QB stats in 2020 - BLyonsTiger
We were 102nd in 3rd down percentage, 68th is red zone scoring percentage, 104th in red zone TD percentage.. It needs more than some minor improvements. Those areas crushed LSU in the Miles era and were a weakness in Ensminger’s game. Love the guy, but we need some fresh blood....

re: How many 5 star QB’s has LSU ever gotten? - BLyonsTiger
You have a much higher hit rate on 5 star players making the NFL and being contributors. Let’s take a look at the 5 start players in the classes from 2007 to 2016 and see how many were drafted. That will give us a 10 period where all the recruits are off the roster. I’m using the composite 2007 ...

re: Jordan Rodgers predicting Florida beats UGA - BLyonsTiger
LSU caught lightning in a bottle. We had dysfunction on one side of the ball....
Ed O had an offense that was holding them back, and all he did was change the offensive staff to modernize the offense and get a transfer QB to implement it. Kirby would NEVER be in a situation lik...

re: List of Most Indispensable Players - BLyonsTiger
Mac Jones might not be the most talented, but he might be the most indispensable because Bama has retooled itself with elite WRs where it takes a good QB to max out the potential of the Offense
This is irrelevant when the article is titled “The most indispensable non-QBs in colleg...

re: In honor of the SEC Tourney not happening this week - BLyonsTiger
Minute Maid?
Minute Maid is probably too big for the tournament. There are plenty of minor league parks that would work better. Constellation in Sugar Land would be a better venue, but it isn’t exactly close to the airport. Memphis and Nashville both have minor league parks too....

re: Let’s talk TE’s - BLyonsTiger
irrelevant because they’re unproven at college level
You can't brag about Baylor Cupp then as he has played no snaps in college and is unproven. Wydermeyer is solid, but no one is afraid of a guy with 447 yards and 6 touchdowns on the season. ...

I’d say go to Auburn, but both are good trips. Seeing the Eagle fly is worth it, and I would say their tailgating is a little better....

That was a really great write up, and I think most of it is spot on. This portion of the Delpit write up seems off though.
I couldn’t have told you who he was (in 2018). I really didn’t notice him. I couldn’t have told you who he was until all the preseason hype and all that stuff going i...
Does he mean Javon Kinlaw went from JUCO to not really playing for an SEC level team for 2 years or does he mean Javon Kinlaw went from JUCO to only getting in 2 yrs worth of playing time with an SEC level team?
I’m reading this as the latter option. ...

re: Breaking: Tua wonderlic score is inaccurate - BLyonsTiger
I have nothing bad to say about Tuna because I respect him as a player but this seems very fishy
This. Why would the results he scored on a practice test from 2 years ago be available? I don’t think the test is that important in the long run, but it makes no sense for Bama to kee...

re: Once LSU target, OT Ty'Kieast Crawford, commits to Charlotte - BLyonsTiger
If he took a scholarship from us and didn’t qualify, we would lose that spot. We may think using it on a transfer or saving it for an early enrollee would be more beneficial. They would only do so if they didn’t believe his grades would get there and seeing as no other major program took the risk, ...
