It's the same thing.

It's not a sandwich round is what im saying. He was taken within the first 30 picks, he's a first rounder.

What round?

In the 4th round, Kramer got 150K when slot was 424K. Cole got 150K when slot was 390K. In the 9th, Poche got 40K when slot was 145K

By comparison, Pap as a junior in the 9th round got 141K which was the slot.

Pap using his skills to block all the extra money from slipping by.

How so?

Appel was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2012 and turned down a $3.8 million bonus to go back to Stanford for his senior season. A year later, he was drafted No. 1 overall by the Astros, getting a $6.35 million bonus.

You think Lange is going to get picked 1st overall next year?

These two are a perfect example of difference between being a senior and having eligibility remaining. Pap was even 10 picks after Poche.

It's not that far-fetched honestly.

Because you're an expert at this stuff, who has less leverage:

A) Mid-Round Senior
B) First Round Senior

I'm no expert... I just follow the draft and have seen how these things go.

The answer is B), but the first round senior still has less leverage than a first-round junior.

Appel was actually in line to be the first overall selection in 2012 but his signability caused him to drop to 8th. If he would have accepted $6M in 2012 he would have likely been drafted first. His stubbornness kept him from signing for more in 2012.

Who gets more $:

A) Junior-Pick #30
B) Senior-Pick #20

I would probably lean to A, but it all depends on the teams that drafted them and how much slot money they were able to save on their lower round picks.

It's totally possible Lange could become a too 15 pick next year, but at what risk to bus arm. If there *is* something to physical reports he's at a higher risk of injuring himself next season and falling out of first round. Even if he doesn't get injured, unless his physical is different next year, team may pass on him in top 15 because of the risk.

Hour and a half left.

If he is getting offered 1.9 (per an unconfirmed report), I think I would have to sign that.

Yep, there's a lot more for him to lose than gain by coming back for his senior year.

I'm upping my chances that he returns to LSU next season from 0% to 0.0001 percent.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there is a chance.
