Absolutely not. While they may sell every season ticket, the stadium is never even close to full, with the exception of post-season play and maybe, in certain years, the occasional big SEC game.

they'd be better off taking all bleachers out and putting chair back down the lines and then some kind of berm/party deck/student section combo in the outfield

No stadium on LSU’s campus needs to be expanded. They all need to shrink even before 2020.
When everything is televised less people are going to make the effort to go to the stadium and pay those prices. Less seating, better amenities is the future.

Alex Box needs a redesign. Increased capacity is not the goal, IMO.

I don't care about outfield bleachers, but I am still upset that we built it on the cheap. We should have the finest stadium in college baseball, but the new Box is far from that. Another complaint I have is that the configuration of the stands renders it not nearly as loud and intimidating as the old Box even when it is full.

This is true for football too. I had season tickets for years and it’s a massive rip off. You get 1 or two big games a year. The rest it’s not even worth driving in for.

The Box is about half full most of the time. Not a chance they should be adding more seats

Please explain what's "cheap" about it.
The concourses and concessions seem great. What's missing? Escalators? Reclining seats?
I'd agree that the outfield bleachers could be removed and replaced by a tiered berm. Several other schools now have that and students love it.
One other thing that the new Alex Box has: plenty of parking. There are other schools that don't have 10% of the parking that LSU has (Texas and Vanderbilt, to name two).

Lol we can't even fill it up now.. There's a bigger need to take seats away and make it nicer than there is to add seats.
