quote:False. USCe and Arky. USCe had a brand new stadium the same year. Baum had a major upgrade. Both with suites and all chair backs and clubs.
That, and none of the stadiums at that time had amenities like what we are seeing added to the most recent upgrades

Ever been to Cameron Indoor Stadium? I can assure you, the top players in the sport don't go to Duke because of how nice Cameron is.....likewise, they aren't coming to LSU because of hiw nice the Box is (or staying away because of how nice it isn't
They’re coming to The Box because the seats have butts in them……and that billboard out in RF helps too.

Better than Alex Box? I must have missed their Intimidator.

The box is like Fenway park, it’s historic. I don’t believe you won’t be able to attract kids to play baseball at LSU because of the ball park. It would be nice to have a state of the art million dollar facility for the fans but the players come to play for LSU and probably couldn’t care less about the stadium. As long as we keep filling the seats, the players will continue to come.

If you think the Box is a dump, you haven't been to other stadiums.
A recent survey, which I had backed up by a recent SEC player and grad assistant, that the Box was in a cluster with Arky and SC behind only Moo St.
Tennesse is brand new and 16 years younger, it better be nicer than the box, but hased on the video I would call it only moderately.

UK, Florida, and OU all have new parks as well. Auburn, Aggie and Vandy had very recent major upgrades. That’s 8 parks minimum that are in better shape than the box.

I love bleachers. I don’t get the hate, who the frick can’t sit upright for a few hours.

our fans have to have something to bitch about. Not a single opposing fan visits the box and thinks "wow, this stadium blows." quite the opposite actually
Exactly
I’ve spoke to many visiting fans and they were in awe of the stadium for CBB

It’s time for a new basketball arena. I went to a game in Will Wades first year and was surprised. It is on par with La Techs Thomas Assembly Center. Nothing against La Tech, but it is shocking nothing has been done yet.

Fans from where exactly? I get it from the small schools and often at regionals and OOC. Not often an SEC fan talks about how comfy he was. Atmosphere they like.

Box was very Cookie Cutter and Plain when it was New. Time to put a few million into it for some upgrades.

Did they forget to hang their 8 CWS banners?

It’s big. That’s all it has going for it over most other parks. Suits. Common. Club level. Common. So grandstands. Common.
Honest question. How many stadiums have you been to outside of the box? You listed Vandy in your previous post so I kind of question your judgment here. Even with their renovations, that stadium is awful.

I know concessions need to be upgraded. You got to take out a mortgage to pay for food poisoning

Newer doesn’t mean better. None of the parks in this post are better than the box
There are all of two that have a legit argument of being unquestionably better than the Box, Baum and DNS. That’s it. That doesn’t mean the Box couldn’t be better but stop being so dramatic about it

Miss state, yes, but Tennessee.. Cracker Jack park

Honest question. How many other SEC stadiums have you actually been to? Not just seen on TV?
We can bitch as much as we want. Upgrades to the stadium are no where near a top priority for the Athletic Department right now. Probably not even in the top 5.

It doesn’t look complete to me. There are a few things missing.
I don’t know…maybe some more championship banners?
