I played at LSU right before the skip era, there were so few people in the stands it was like being at at PGA tournament, people would keep there voices down when talking so we couldn't hear what they were saying about us
I remember walking into Alex Box as if it were an abandoned ball park. It was in disrepair and there were few people at games. Largely a couple of guys who probably sat up there drinking the afternoon away, making the "whoop - whew" noise every time a pitch was thrown back and forth.

They need to bring back the dancing dugout girls

You know what could remedy all of this?

Doesn’t need a total revamp but the general admission options need updated. There needs to be large areas of grass for students to set up.
Looking at the “student section” at the box and it looks like a Baptist church on Sunday. State Arkansas Ole Miss and Tennessee have passed us up in that regard.

The "new" Box needs major improvements. This will be like the 3rd or 4th year in a row with these kinds of threads continually popping up. Just look across the state line to Mississippi State.

They used to have a real, live organist until around the mid-1990s. They should not have gotten rid of him.
Yeah, that was my cousin, Kenny Kleinpeter. He was great at it.
One time, I think it was for a Regional that we were hosting, the ump made a terrible call against us. They had paused the game to deliberate. While they were meeting, Kenny started playing “Three Blind Mice.”
Since it was supposed to be “neutral”, the umps didn’t like it, so they tossed him (the organist) from the game.
The crowd gave him a standing ovation as he left, and he raised his hat to everyone. ??. Great times!!

Just hearing Bill Franques’ voice takes me back to being little at the old Box. Great times

Lol, so we need to get rid of the OF bleachers and replace them with huge mounds of dirt with grass?
Sounds like great fun.

Agree, but Bill is the one playing the annoying sound effects.

There definitely needs to be a berm wherever there aren’t bleachers in the power alleys.
But back to OP, please more organ music so it feels like I’m actually at a baseball game.

Those bleachers are hideous and look miserable during day games so yes

it’d be a lot cooler if they played more classic ballpark music like they do at most MLB stadiums

No he's not. He doesn't play the music anymore.

You have to be a dumarse to think LSU Baseball is NOT a serious program based on bleachers.

Absolutely incorrect. I wish he was still in charge of all that, but the marketing and promotions imbeciles do that now, and they have been for a while

Every. fricking. Time. And you can clearly hear it on TV telecasts as well.

I knew Bill when I was a student in the late '80s. He was basically a paid intern doing all the grunt work at that point, but was professional at his job and working his arse off. Except for the occasional Thursday afternoon (that would usually go rather late) at Fred's. We would have him order drinks in his PA voice. And this was years before he was doing the PA gig. Really great guy.

.
Seems I remember his last name was Waguespack and there ended up being some kind of BS between LSU admin and him. Don't remember the details but sure seem to remember it upset the LSUBB faithful when they stopped using him.
