Seems I remember his last name was Waguespack and there ended up being some kind of BS between LSU admin and him. Don't remember the details but sure seem to remember it upset the LSUBB faithful when they stopped using him.

It was Kenny Kleinpeter, but yeah, there was a bit of BS about within the administration, and it did very much so upset a lot of the Tiger faithful.

He was mostly doing it as a volunteer. They were only paying him $35 per game, but he didn’t mind doing it for that. But it was a sudden “pull out the rug from underneath him” kind of deal. They suddenly sprang it in him that they wanted to save the money and just move on by using recordings of his music.

He felt a little jaded about it, but he handled it professionally. The details leaked out to the local press (I believe the Advocate did a write up on it), and a lot of fans were upset about it. He was a fan favorite.

I believe that when Skip was interviewed about it, he added something about how he preferred the live music play because he could tell the crowd fed a little bit off of it that way.

I can’t remember exactly, but I believe it was the Coach’s Committee that were the ones paying him, and whom ultimately decided to save the money and discontinue with Kenny.

Lol, so we need to get rid of the OF bleachers and replace them with huge mounds of dirt with grass?

Sounds like great fun.

I’m not saying that that is exactly what needs to happen, but when you look at the Ole Miss student section,
then look at our student section, do you think that our students are having more fun?

Thanks for the memory jogger. So $35 a game X maybe 35 games = $1225 and they were in such a financial pinch they needed to can him. Typical LA/LSU BS.

7th inning stretch is game over stand up and leave. Some LSU opponents have updated their schedules to reflect upcoming games against LSU as 7 inning games.

I was also at LSU during the Lamabe (?) years. It was quiet because no one was there!
Big Red, his sidekick and about 12 other fans.
Those were the days.
