Holy shite!!!

Hard to believe his knees can hold up after playing at 320 in the nfl.
Truly amazing transformation.

WOW - I thought this would be an exaggeration, but no. Even more amazing to look at him now and realize that he was the GOAT offensive lineman at LSU and was phenomenal in the NFL too. He destroyed Spurrier's D-line in 1997 when we ran all over them and knocked them from the top of the polls.

Alan Faneca had more different looks than almost any player I can remember. I prefer this one:

Kinda reminds me of this guy:

I also like his Hamish from Braveheart stage:

Matt Flynn meets Walter White stage:

You could have told me it was a former LSU O line man, and I wouldn't have guessed Faneca in a hundred tries.

I will state subtly so as not to single out Fanaca because he is not alone. Do you really think all these massive* NFL lineman get that way by drinking protein shakes, granola bars and a weekly workout regime?

*have you ever been next to one in the flesh to really see how big these "humans" are?

Plenty guys are 270 all muscle. Especially bodybuilders. Fanwca is 6’5”. Was 320. Had to be big and strong to play ball son. He looks ill now tho. Too skinny.

He looks too small for his frame but it’s a lot better than some guys that jack up to 350+ and choke down pills all day.

He was the 2nd best guard of his era in the NFL, behind Larry Allen.

why are people downvoting this? Are you all really so blinded by purple and gold glasses?

The VERY FIRST THING I thought when I saw Faneca so trim was that he got off the steroids after his NFL career.

The blind homers on this board are so hard to stomach.

Everyone I know that went overboard with the running looks like a heroin addict.

Losing all that weight aged him by 10 years.

Meh for some players absolutely but Faneca has been the same size since college and has a huge frame. It's not like he was 320 of shredded muscle. When you eat 10k calories a day and have a nutritionist and private trainers, it's not that hard to carry 320 on a 6'5" frame.

Yeah my pointnis that when your not an OG in the NFL it’s not healthy to be 320

Because it’s dumb and presumptuous. You don’t need roids to get over 300 lbs if you’re as tall as he is. All you need is calories in.

Roids are for muscle building. Look at his arms and shoulders in the video. He’s fairly cut. If he was on and had gotten off, how is he managing to still have more muscle mass than most people his size?

but as you get older that's a good thing. It's a much healthier life style with the side benefit of putting way less stress on your joints. There is absolutely no reasonable reason to be a 40 year old 320 lb muscle head.

plus I don't get the heroin addict reference. He looks way healthy to me. It's just a bit jarring to see the difference between now vs then. If you never knew who he was or how much he use to weigh you would just see a healthy well toned athletic man in his early 40's.

Brad Culpepper was an O tackle in the NFL. After retirement, he went from huge to lean and mean. Played on Survivor.

Hell, I struggle to lose 5 lbs. These guys are something else.

damn good for him. Going from a 300+ OL in the NFL to probably a 170 lb marathon runner. And have this transformation in his 40s, impressive

I just read an article about him running in the race, he's 215lbs now. Have to remember he's also 6'5" and if you look up pictures he's still got a decent amount of muscle.
