Truth. Mostly because they are far more likely to have attended the university and don't take kindly to it being represented poorly. To most alumni, LSU is a whole lot more than a football, or even sports, organization.

My favorite part of the letter.....

I think you may find you have a few more fans, who when not rooting for AFA will be pulling for LSU!

Yea, that part was nice. Is it 7:00 yet?

to those of you who were at the Box this past weekend....thank you.
"...and I dreamed I saw the bombers, riding shotgun in the skies...."geaux AFA!

That cannot be real. That thing has Bill Franques' or Mike Bonnette's handwriting all over it. There is no way LSU fans treated another team that well. Good job LSU SID office!
you know how i know you weren't at the game Sunday?

Not true.
Most of those cajuns that go to the games are not LSU alums. I think the ratio might be better just because the sheer volume is less, but I bet a majority of baseball fans did not go to LSU either.

Honoring the AFA team and the standing O the crowd gave them on sunday is probably going to be one of my favorite LSU baseball memories. Right up there with the ovation we gave Wake Forest's coach at opening day last year.
And on Friday....

As a retired Air Force senior NCO, the letter made me feel great.
Thanks to the classy LSU fans who treated the Falcon baseball players and staff so very, very well.
I'll try to make it out to the Academy for a game and personally thank the Coach for the nice comments.

i agree with you 100%. i'm one of those people.
i also believe this "it does get pretty ugly around here when the baseball team goes through rough times"
it easy to be classy when your a winner. it might also have to do with how brutal football is and fans have that mind set going in. just my opinion though

I have never seen it get ugly at the box.

True but some of the classiest moments I can remember is when we lost. Don't remember the exact year but it was in the 90's and CSF beat us 11-0 in the regionals. LSU fans chanted LSU in defeat and applauded CSF for how they played. I will never forget one of the CSF players saying how awesome we were at the end of the game.

Because of his letter AFA is a recent huge fan of mine.

Yeh I know and that is the number one reason I think our fans are the best. We know how good our program is and the fans seem to police each other to keep it classy.

Isn't he and Maineri old buddies? I know this is nice and all but I suspect that fact had a lot to do with this letter. No doubt that the fans treated them well and all but if he weren't friends with PM, would this letter have been written? Just sayin'. No flame intended because I know our fans did LSU proud this weekend.

I absolutely love hearing and reading stuff like this. Makes BR special for me.

It isn't the first time it has happened. I think opposing teams that aren't traditional powers genuinely enjoy their experience at the Box.

I think most nonconference opponents would say this. Now lets show App State some of the same hospitality while sweeping the series on the field.
