I honestly don’t see why it would even be a debate 1 loss for them. 2 for us.

Why just focus on the loses. If LSU wins the SECCG they will also have 11 wins. Same as Tennessee.

Can’t say I disagree with you but I’m more afraid of the committee just going with the flavor of the month. They have proven they just make up rules for whatever they want.

It's how you finish and the idea of possibly taking two SEC teams over the SEC champion is ludicrous.

Absolutely. They always say there’s greater consideration given to teams that are hot at the end of the season.

Yep.

The committee believes that Georgia is the best team in the nation. Hell, everyone does. If we beat them, they can't leave us out.

UAB should be looked at as our first playoff game. Can’t lose any. Our playoffs start this weekend.

Signed Penn State 2016

Penn State beat a woeful Wisconsin team in a close game. I don't even think Wisconsin actually made a bowl that year. I can't remember. LSU would have to beat the #1 team in the country.

ETA: Must be thinking of another team. They ended 11-3.

We will have ended the season demolishing an Ole Miss team, beat Alabama and then beat the undisputed #1 team in the country.

Yeah that overcomes the Tennessee loss and certainly the FSU loss.

Tennessee will have 1 loss against the #1 team, on the road, and a blowout win at LSU.

If Georgia and Michigan both have 1 loss, who goes to the playoff?

Look, I want LSU to win out and earn a CFP bid. And, yes, an SEC Championship is important. BUT, when teams have a better record than we would have and have played a tough schedule, record has to mean something.

IF LSU were to win out, this is most likely SEC situation:

UGA 12-1; Tennessee 11-1; LSU 11-2. Our records are NOT tied. Clearly UGA and UTN would have a superior record to LSU in this scenario.

IMO, it is NOT a done deal that LSU gets into the playoff in this scenario. We might or we might not.

Georgia since they would have more wins and a stronger strength of schedule.

So You’re saying that Georgia loses to LSU and Michigan loses to Ohio St. Georgia is in and Michigan is out. The big 10 won’t get 2 teams in.

You’re right and it shouldn’t even be a debatable issue.

Conference Championship for us no Conference championship for them.

I figure it this way, and I think I’m conservative on the points. I’m not even crediting the Tigers for their improvement since losing to Tennessee.
It’s a factor. Maybe + 1?
Stating the obvious-Tigers have to win out. But given that, I don’t see how Tennessee jumps LSU. Maybe we don’t go, but we will have a better claim than do the Vols.

LSU + 1 Western Division Championship
LSU + 2 SEC Conference Championship
LSU + 2 Head to Head Defeat of # 1 Georgia
LSU + 1 SOS LSU
LSU - 2 Head to Head Loss to Tennessee
LSU - 2 Head to Head Loss to Florida State
LSU - 1 SOS Tennessee

LSU + 1

“Don’t focus on the losses”

If that were a legitimate argument any team could make it.
