If he can go then he needs to go. You can’t keep the qb out when there are so many new pieces on offense.

I think you tell Nuss to go as hard as he can and you tell the defense not to touch him until he is back to 100%

lol I was thinking the same thing. Players that don’t practice and get into football shape are more susceptible to get soft tissue injuries during early parts of the season. Some NFL teams are actually rethinking the not playing our starters at all during pre season. The Steelers being one of those.

Can't afford an injury accidental or not.

Ligaments are a fickle bitch and injuries can literally happen at a moments notice and often happen in non contact situations. They’ll throw another non contact red jersey on him and do the best they can to keep him upright.

So, you want our starting QB to ride the pine with no practice reps then show up week 1 on the road vs a top 5 or so team with multiple first rounders on their defense?

Does that really sound like a smart idea?

With our OL, he needs to practice running for his life.

He can get the same reps in VR, except for solidifying his timing with the pass catchers

QB/C Exchange?
Mesh Point with RB’s?
OL working with his different cadences?
Etc, etc, etc.

Not even close. VR is good for pre-snap reads, and that’s about it.

This is what happens when people who never played competitive sports in their life make posts about sports

I've always heard practice makes you a puss. Something like that. No need to practice ever. Its overrated. You make me wanna use the R word.

I would assume at some point, QBs are gonna wear non-contact jerseys.

Guess you missed this.

The German VR ‘flight simulator’ behind LSU QB Jayden Daniels’ Heisman-caliber 2023 season

quote:

"It looks like he’s throwing to a spot more.” Improved pass protection played a role in Daniels’ willingness to trust his progressions..

A lot more than "pre-snap" reads. Big help working through progressions.

Players around them would not move robotically (a criticism of much VR tech) but realistically. Colors matched the real colors of a stadium. The action moved as fast as live football, if not faster, and simulated real action.

I'm sure Nuss would look really sharp getting zero reps between now and 3 weeks to face one of the best defenses he'll play all season
