AFR show notes from 11/28/16...the day O was hired as HC

-Today is a very disappointing day in the history of LSU football
-I hope in 10 years you all look back and say whatever happened to that idiot Moscona, remember when he bashed LSU for hiring O
-Hiring O is the most LSU move ever
-Hiring O is like going to the bar and settling for a 5
-Hiring O is like a millionaire buying a million dollar home and then filling that home with Walmart furniture
-On Saturday(the day O was announced as HC) LSU's football program regressed 30 years, that is such an LSU thing to do
This was just the first 10 minutes of the first hour
Most people on this board will say "well everyone felt that way, cut him some slack"...no, Matt probably has the biggest and loudest sports voice in Baton Rouge, and he got very subjective, and very personal and now it's biting him in the arse.
Baton Rouge's flagship sports show will never be able to interview the national championship coach of LSU, that's sad

Dude, we all bashed him. We all admitted we were wrong. So did Matt.
You can talk shite on Matt for a lot of things but not when 98% of us were wrong on this.

Matt isn't any different than anyone else, he gave his opinion and he was wrong. Big deal.
If anything I think it's kind of silly that Coach O can't/won't appear on the show.

Some people were disappointed in the hire, some bashed him, a few acted like tantrum throwing children with personal and vindictive attacks. Matt fell into the later category with the biggest sports voice in BR.

If I had my own show on 11/28/16, this is mild compared to what I would have said. And now I'm as big an O fan as there is. Sometimes we end up being wrong.

If O were putting up 6 win seasons, how loud would Matt be screaming "TOLD YOU SO!!!!" and how many threads on this board would be bumped with "TOLD YOU SO!!" but since O proved everyone wrong, we just need to forget any of that happened

Not all of us. Don't apologize by saying 98% were bashing the hire. Agree that this is is far behind us now. However, make certain not to make comments about Les Miles either since that too is far behind us now.

Every single time Matt talks about Coach O he reminds the listeners of how wrong he was. He’s not running from it.

The difference is that you are a fan...not a sports personality who primarily covers LSU. When you have that much invested professionally you should really think long and hard before you spend weeks bashing a guy who could eventually be a hero in your city. Now granted, probably nobody but O actually saw this coming, but you have to temper your emotions a bit and give a guy a chance.

If he can't interview O than it would STRICTLY be because of O's on doing. Moscona, along with many, MANY, national media members have all admitted, multiple times, that O proved them wrong. Isn't that the ultimate "prize" for someone who was doubted and ridiculed?
O appears on national shows quite often and virtually all of them, understandably, ridiculed the hire

Right. I can't tell you how many times he has said he was wrong.
I really don't know what more the OP wants from him.
I don't get it.
I know I said O would never beat Saban or win a Natty.
We were wrong. It's behind us now.
O has learned a lot from his first HC gig.. and O knows how to run a very successful program. He deserves all the praise now.

Moscona's bashing carried on far too long is the issue.
Early in Orgeron's tenure we were having struggles at the Kicker position, Orgeron said they had to get better and he would go get the best kicker in the nation. Orgeron was trashed for "throwing players under the bus".
Orgeron then went and used an open scholarship on a grad transfer kicker from Assumption College. Moscona then went on to trash Orgeron for wasting the scholarship on a kicker with a year of eligibility.
That wasted scholarship ended up being for the best kicker in the nation just as Orgeron stated.
Orgeron has consistently been very honest about the program and areas they needed improvement. Each time he has gone out addressed and improved the area. Some people just can't handle the truth too well.
