Scott Drew is not on the list. Not even on the honorable mention list. Surely his interest can be tickled, yes?

Anyway, I like Archie Miller and Steve Prohm. Either would be a home run.

Prepare to be underwhelmed. I fully expect it to be Kermit Davis.

We'll never get miller. however, I keep wondering if Drew might want out of Waco with all the scandal and drama surrounding baylor. he already owns louisiana recruiting too

Miller could go home to NC State, and then be UNC and Duke's bitch for the next decade, stil having to deal with Syracuse and the rest of a brutal conference. Or he could come here, build something, and have to play Kentucky once a year.

Where do I apply? I'll take half of what JJ was making. If less fans come to SEC play than last year, I'll pay back 100% of my earnings.

Well, NC State also has a very nice arena and willing to pay more. both very nice advantages over LSU. Still I see your point, and I think LSU would pay up if the right guy came along and started winning a lot

NCst probably doesn't have the rebuild job LSU has for next year.

Id take him or musselman in a heartbeat.

Bingo. It may not be Davis, but anyone getting their hopes up hasn't paid attention to our SJWAD.

Also, the question no one is asking today: who does Daddy Dale and CT want?

If Indiana and Crean part ways, don't be surprised to see Archie land there. NC St's AD is a divisive personality than a lot of folks will shy away from. Big 10 is ripe for the picking, also, and he can get everything he wants from a resource standpoint at Indiana.

By every indication on paper, Trent Johnson was a home run.

There is almost never a sure thing when it comes to coaching hires.

The advocate is lazy. So don't look too far into their lists.

NC St. fired their coach mid-season with one replacement in mind, Archie Miller.

I still don't understand the Brey talk other than a leverage play for him. Northeast guy who has built a great program at ND with primarily Northeast players. Probably not a great fit for him or LSU (even though Alleva, the guy who hired Trent Johnson, doesn't think "fit" matters)

Beard has a long history in TX. Maybe would have been a candidate last season, but I can't see him leaving TTU after just one season

Alleva was at LSU a hot minute and hired the resume when he hired Johnson. By the resume, it should've worked. All the "insider" lobbying made him go against better judgement when he hired Johnny Jones. By now there shouldn't be any doubt about the kind of coach he wants to see on the LSU bench. He can't miss this time. I don't think it should be any of those "hot" mid-major guys. My hope is a young current Power 5 coach like Buzz Williams or Steve Prohm is at the top of the list. If you have to drop to the mid-major guys then I favor Musselman.

Seem's like NCST and LSU have more in common than we first thought.

Archie could certainly go to NC State, but his brother played at Pitt and has had many opportunities to go there and chose to take a different path.

I see Archie taking the best path for him and I would not be surprised to see him at Indiana. That's a much better place to be than NC State, which hasn't competed consistently with Duke and UNC since Valvano.

I was sitting with an ex-member of the BSE , and I was complaining about JJ. I told him what LSU needed was an X&O's guy to do the timeout coaching, and he told me we had one of the best hired to do that right then. Unfortunately, about 1-2 weeks later Bill Musselman went back to the NBA. He has to be worth a look. The guy who was telling me this knows more about basketball the JJ will ever know.

Brey and JA have a long relationship

Miller would be great but not likely

IF not those two my guess is it will be someone not on the list

Didn't Brey play at Northwestern State?
