Pelini was snuck in as much as a DC could be because of the upheaval it caused among coaches and players in the locker room. O hid the objections from Woody to push the hire through. The cheerio narrative that Pelini was a “Woody hire” couldn’t be further from the truth and was only created to provide Orgeron another fall guy.
