I'm starting to believe O wasn't throwing shade at Aranda in the offseason and realized just how bad of a mistake they made with hiring Pelini. Like when Les said that 2009 OL was the best OL.

I honestly believe that O said he wanted an attacking 4-3 guy, Woodward said the he knew a guy and mentioned Pelini and they both agreed and went straight to negotiations.
That's the only scenario that makes sense since O had never worked with Pelini prior.

Pelini was snuck in as much as a DC could be because of the upheaval it caused among coaches and players in the locker room. O hid the objections from Woody to push the hire through. The cheerio narrative that Pelini was a “Woody hire” couldn’t be further from the truth and was only created to provide Orgeron another fall guy.

A simple google search would have told Woodward and O everything they needed to know about BP. Unbelievable that this hired was made and I don't know if an adj exists to describe the salary.
