Johnson has won multiple SEC games in his career. I wouldn't take him over Daniels. But it's not like the guy is unproven. Even though this isn't a great Auburn team, it's not like the first team offense under Weigman was doing much in that game. It was 6-3 at the half.
While I don't know if Johnson under center makes A&M significantly better, I don't think he makes them much worse...if at all. When you are forced to go to your backup QB that is about all you can hope for.

Max is a decent QB. 2021 they tried to make him a pocket passer and that is not what he is.
I also don’t blame him for transferring. We were obviously more interested in redshirting Nuss than giving him a back up. Only time will tell if this was the correct decision.

They still haven’t beaten LSU at Tiger Stadium in conference play.
