He's hitting below the mendoza line and we are bringing in 2 big time OF recruits between DeHart and Fraley. There's no way he's starting next year hitting as poorly as he does.

There is a bigger chance Stevenson will be cut than Sciambra.

thunderbird gets so jealous when someone else makes a future starting lineup thread

Glad Laird has really stepped up and proven e deserves to start. Was scared for awhile he wouldn't get another chance to start next year with the guys coming in.

Could be a Foster/Longhi platoon at DH

They're both right-handed batters...

Is this Poche kid all that? Seems to have out up solid numbers this season.

I haven't seen him personally, but I've heard he is legit. He's a good athlete that even returned kicks for the Lutcher football team.

Geonte Jackson looks like he had a good year at San Jac. Any chance he makes it back to campus?

Cliff Notes of below-get off his arse, Sciambra has contributed this year

Long version....

This kid has taken $hit from a lot of you this season. You'd think he was batting .195 with a .295 OBP (oh wait, that's Stevenson) instead of his .265 and .407 OBP. May I remind you that he has bounced back from near paralyzingly injury last year, causing him to miss part of the last season and all of summer ball. Unlike everyone else on the team, he couldn't even begin to practice baseball until last fall. Who knows what his average would be if he would have been allowed to work out of his mid-season slump like Laird and Jones. Remember, he has gotten 2 RBI pinch hits in his last 2 at bats.

Speaking of which, he is the only player on this year's team that has gotten a game winning RBI hit for a championship. He was also the player that advanced the runner with a perfectly placed 2 strike bunt in the 10th in a win against Arkansas, a game tying SF in the top of the 9th in an eventual loss against Alabama, etc, etc. He may not be good enough to start in CPM eyes, but he is far from a scrub some of you make him out to be.

I really don't understand the hate for him. Preseason, I honestly thought he was going to possibly be a starter in the outfield.

Doubtful. I don't think Mainieri's style of roster management has endeared Jackson to the program.

Me neither. He's a good defensive player. He sees a lot of pitches. And he's come up big in late innings.

He's a guy we need to keep around because he's the kind of guy that can really help us in the post season as a veteran presence.

These are the same posters that said Cotton wouldn't be around for his sophomore or junior year preseason. Also the ones that said he couldn't be a closer
