I don't think so either.

But O wasn't exactly in-demand, for anyone, in 2016 following an awful tenure at Ole Miss. Initially, he wasn't going to be considered for the permanent job. But in being given the platform to basically "try out" for the job, he figured why not do anything possible to hopefully get himself in consideration. The VERY first thing he did was rally support from the former players who felt they were kept away from the program by the fired HC.

I'm not advocating for Wilson. I'm just saying he's going take the same approach because he has no reason not to

Why is it a bad idea? Seriously, just curious why you feel that way.

I wish Whitworth could have spilled some tea about what was being said in the Grave’s suite during that abomination last weekend.

If Frank goes 3-1 or 4-0, he will be heavily in the mix for the full time job.

Pay attention to Woodward’s status. If he's forced out, this search is going to be run by bafoons and no coach with leverage will consider signing on to this shite show.

Look at O's record at OM

This is definitely part of what Frank is up to

What a damned idiot.

That would be like McMahon ignoring Shaq's offer to help with the big men on the basketball team, or Mahmoud Abdul Rauf (Chris Jackson for those who don't know) offering to work with the guards.

BK didn't want anyone around who could see through his facade.

This. He is doing the job now because he loves LSU and has to.

A lot of what he is saying is also a good reminder that asking “who would y’all hire” on this board is pointless. There’s so much more that goes into (or should go into) hiring a football coach that what people think.

Exactly. And yet it will continue maniacally until the HC is hired, THEN the battle lines will be drawn on who likes and dislikes, with the holdovers from Miles, O and BK chiming in usually against whoever the hell it is.
Rinse, repeat.

You would rather a bunch of guys on a board have all the input and they shouldn't be open to what ex players feelings are in who or what type of coach should be considered for the job?

Maybe Kelly wanted to fail. Guaranteed $$$$ Contract. Even half is more than the majority of coaches will make in a lifetime.

nope.

Interim is a FAR different job that the regular HC.

As much as we may love Frank, he's already done poorly as a head coach at two different schools.

Hard no on Frank as HC, regardless of how he does at interim.

Not challenging you, but curious as to what you think those things are.

Frank is the ultimate steward for the program and this state. He’s going to do what’s best for that.

Some people aren’t meant to be head coaches and coordinators and I think people like him and Corey Raymond realize that now. Hopefully whoever the new coach is keeps him on in some capacity.

Only facebook mom's and folks from down the bayou wanted Ed O hired. @bama, arky and @oklahoma? Yeah, i don't see the rah rah stuff being enough to get that done. I love Frank. I think he genuinely loves LSU, but you have to take the emotion out of it.

But O did have a good run when he took over at USC. Remember, a lot of USC fans were wanting him to be promoted to permanent coach.
