Went to Dublin with the LSU band for St. Patty's day a few years ago. An unbeatable experience. The folks are incredibly friendly and welcoming. No strangers in Dublin. We took day and went into the Wicklow mountains. That was one my favorite parts of the trip.

Thanks for your post. You made lots of people stop and consider how fortunate we are.

1) Glad you enjoyed the trip; 2) thanks for the compliments; 3) shame we had fans leaving early in this particular game (better turnout than we expected); 4) you haven't even seen a night game; 5) I hear the Guinness is better over there; 6) screw the club scene for me, personally, but hey Fred's is "lit," as the kids say.

Cheers, come back any time!

Amazing place.
LSU football at Night and the Historical/Culinary/Tourism aspects of New Orleans are about the only "Amazing" things regarding Louisiana. (BTW, you need to come back for a big LSU game at Night)

I'm half Scottish and an Ireland-Scotland trip is at the top of my bucket list!

Enjoyed the story. I enjoyed my only trip to Ireland. The Fleadh music festival in August, the Hurling (fastest game in the world) tournament where everyone stops to watch, and the Guinness from a tap allowing five minutes to settle was impressive.

Mooreman, Wife and I are headed to Ireland on Dec. 26 - Jan. 3. Need all the tips and recs we can get. dbrous90@gmail.com

Also thoroughly enjoyed your post. Good to read outsiders perspectives and people who had no allegiances who began to enjoy a team and pick them to be a fan of

You have something the rest of the world would envy - to have the tradition, mystique and history all to yourselves is a real luxury. Everything about the game and the build up is addictive, inspiring and left me wanting more. To know and learn more about LSU and the region.

You have become spoilt! As stated above - you are BLESSED to have this on your doorstep.

Can we fricking pin this to the top forever?

Apparently their visit was in June 2006 when they met Moss Keane (I didn't realize it was that long ago). The story I heard was that Moss was telling a lot of stories with many 'f bombs' thrown around. I think he was promoting a book (autobiography?) at the time.

After many beers, he was telling my relative that they forced him to significantly reduce the number of words in the book. My relative said "Did they want to remove all of the frick/fricking/frickers in the book?" Moss Keane replied "How did you fricking know that cousin?"

Thank you for your post, lad. A lot of these spoiled little shits on TD grew up during Saban and can't remember when we were ecstatic to make it to a bowl game in Shreveport...

Always nice to get a perspective from outside. My ancestry = Irish/French. My grandfather died while plan to get to the motherland soon. Will def lean on you for advice when that trip is near.

next time you come down, plan a fishin trip for 1/2 or whole day. Louisiana wetlands are beautiful and, unfortunately, disappearing!

#cheers
