bullshite!!! I understand why someone will call a 10 win season a success, But if you're telling me that you thought we would finish the season 6-6 then you have no credibility whatsoever

False. In 2012 LSU into its bowl game at 10-2 and ranked #7. Also, LSU lost the Bama game 21 to 17 after leading the game until the final minute.

False. 2012 and 2013 were better seasons.

So. The 2006 team was maybe the best LSU team ever and didn’t even play for the title.

Success in a given year is judged relative to the other teams that year.

2018 LSU had 3 losses in a down SEC

Which year involved getting shutout by Alabama at home? That one is the worse year.

So by the vast majority of responses, an NY6 bowl game win would make this the best season since at least 2012, perhaps 2011.

There were many things to be disappointed in, such as a shitty offense (again) and close losses to Florida and A&M.

Hopefully we get a premier opponent in the Fiesta, like Michigan and close out the season on a strong note. I would prefer not to play UCF, since I don’t think that helps the program.

False. Lost to 3 of our four 'rivals'. Only beat one good team (two at a push).

True. I feel like there was a lot more doubt about this years team.

Not the same Alabama football team. This year’s team is much better.

Of course LSU has to win the bowl, and we shouldn't take credit for something that hasn't happened. However, IF we were to win, I say true and not sure how you could argue otherwise.

LSU has posted better offensive numbers and at the very least, comparable defensive numbers.

and you are also assuming a team that has lost its last game and limped to a win over arkansas (I thought O cured the bama hangover) is going to win its bowl game.

I love how this narrative keeps getting pushed. Before you know it, it's going to be "this year, many people, including our own fans expected an 0-124 season with a loss to our basketball team, but O won 9 games!"

I think it compares to the 2012 year, but would put this year ahead of 2013. 2013 saw us lose to unranked ole miss and and almost blow the damn outback bowl.

False, 2012 was better or at least a much better team, only losses where to top 10 teams all by 1 score 2 on basically the last play

Is losing to unranked 8-5 Ole Miss that much worse than losing to a possible unranked 8-5 Texas AM?

That is O pumpers enacting the second phase of their two-part preseason strategy of saying how team is young/schedule is hard/new coordinator so we shouldn't expect more than 6-7 wins. Now they get to tout anything more than that as a successful season.

Very comparable season to the 2013 season when Mett took us to a 10-3 record but the only difference was this season we were not expected to do as well as the 2013 season so I give this season the edge. In 2013 we did have the slip up against Ole Miss but did play Bama better than we did this year. Also destroyed the #9 A&M team in 2013 and had a back and forth game with Georgia.
