I think Ole Miss should be favored by more.

Go back and watch the throws he made against Tulane. Then come update your post.

I watched his highlights:

1Q

13:11 He breaks contain while Tulane brings pressure and breaks one for about 40. I think our D would have taken him down. Tulane DB was literally jogging at about my 10k pace, which is pretty damned slow.

12:25 He underthows a pass to a wide open man in the end zone. Nobody within three yards of the receiver. And Tulane almost caught him there on the pass rush. His arse would have been on the ground against us.

2Q

6:33 Rolls out right. Throws it over a Tulane DB who tips it into the hands of a Rebel receiver. A taller DB in better position would have snagged it. And it would have been significantly overthrown if the DB had not tipped it.

1:22 He hurls one downfield to a receiver who has outrun a Tulane DB by two yards. It was a long throw. But that guy is unlikely to have been open against an LSU DB. That DB was slow and totally missed a double move. Chambliss also got peelayed by the Tulane pass rusher. I doubt he gets that throw off against our rush. And, if you want to get technical about it, that ball was still a little underthrown. The receiver had to spin around and slow almost to a stop to get it. That's a pick against better DBs.

3Q

2:39 Now this was a nice throw into double coverage. But it is a pass breakup at best against a faster DB. And maybe a pick.

1:36 Draw for a touchdown. Tulane D line looking weak. Even the announcer calls it a "yawning hole."

4Q

14:55 Rolls right and makes a four-yard pass to an RB who outruns a defender. I could have made that throw, and I am OAF.

12:21 25 yard pass to a wide-open receiver who looks to be about two feet taller than the defender.

8:26 Throws into double coverage on a slant route. Receiver stops because the ball is underthrown. DB stops with him for some inexplicable reason. Not impressive.

I see a QB with talent who makes some questionable decisions on long balls and gets away with it against Tulane. Good luck with that against the LSU DBs.

Look at the R-kansas game. Hard to tell how good Arky is at all. IMO, they should have beaten OM and probably OU.
Chambliss look decent against Arky. Strong arm and made them pay when chased from the pocket. We need to keep containment on him or he will make us pay.

That was true with Klubnik, too, and Whit Weeks chased him down.

He is dangerous if he gets outside.

But I predict three picks if they keep him in all game.

If LSU keeps it to single digits, I'll be shocked.

You’re right. LSU by double digits.

Pretty fricking good Oline in pass pro.

Are you still thinking of 2024? Nuss has taken more of a beating this year. Even Southeastern got a couple of sacks on Saturday.

We’ve only beaten Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemingway twice since 2013. Also, our O-Line has been complete trash this year.

I would bet on Ole Miss to win by more than than 2.5 points.

You know that's only 5 games, right? We're 2-3, which is as close to .500 as you can get without being over, so it's not like it's some huge drought. And one of those 3 losses was in the only losing season we've had this millennium. People need to quit acting like beating Ole Miss in Oxford is some monumental challenge. They're a good team, and beating them anywhere will be a challenge.

But Vaughn-Hemmsworth stadium won't be the problem.

this is hilarious

You're saying that like it's been forever. We lost the last 2 games there. That's it. The 2021 team was the 2nd most horrendous LSU team since the 90s, and the only losing season since then. The 2021 team played against the best Ole Miss team since 2015.

The 2023 team played against the best Ole Miss team since 1963, and LSU was literally a dropped pass from Chris Hilton in the final second, from winning that game.

Statistically (offensive and defensive rankings), the 2024 Ole Miss team was better than all the previous Ole Miss teams (3rd in offensive points and 2nd in defensive points), yet lost to a mediocre LSU team on the road.

Ole Miss doesn't have anywhere near the offense nor defense, that they had last year or 2023. Many of you will be surprised when LSU wins something like 30 to 17.
