On the other hand, had he bashed Ensminger, this board would have caught fire with praise of Roaf.

Fair enough. I'll give you that.

My point is that one should take the opinion of someone that has been there over some clod that hasn't.

Yes another outstanding point. I mean all these years we’ve seen former players in all sports as commentators on TV and none of them have ever been wrong about anything involving coaches or teams. The former players lap the journalists that never played routinely in their predictions. Hell I'm shocked Vegas is still open when should all be rich banking on player opinions

According to the Tards on this board I am not allowed to comment on the 2016 game. The whole staff was "interim" at that time.

If I could comment I would say that since LSU lost, I agree with your statement about the game plan. I am blown away that with three whole weeks to prepare, the staff was not able to totally revamp the LSU offense and win that game. So what if they played games during that time, they should have been able to install a new offense. That is on the coaches for that game and loss.

If D1 playing or coaching experience were prerequisites to posting an opinion this board wouldn't exist. Instead, this silly argument is used by those defending a terrible coach from his own terrible decisions. It's entertaining if nothing else.

Yet you try to validate the opinions of people that have never even sniffed D1 football over those who haven't just because it agrees with your position?

And you don't see the total idiocy in this stream of logic?

What is more damaging to the LSU brand? Is it people posting their legitimate concerns on an internet message board? Or is it leadership riddled with incompetence, blame avoidance and transparent attempts to manipulate the fanbase?

And neither have any of you couch coaches that populate this board? Always right?

Bad example dude.

Might as well just hire curly. Players spoke well of him too.

Maybe we should get Brett Favre's opinion.

Cam has had a tremendous impact on me as a young quarterback. He brings a lot of knowledge with both the game planning and the system that he runs. He had a lot to do with my success this year. He’s a great motivator. He has a great understanding of the game in all phases. He really has the demeanor about him that exudes a lot of confidence. I think his players feed off of that

- Philip rivers quote about Cam Cameron

And I could literally do this for probably any coach ever.

Players opinions =/= fact

Willie didn't just speak highly of him.

He explained what happened during the season, gave a synopsis of the type of offense they ran and where the offense ranked nationally.

You can post an article about Ensminger improving the offense in 2016 and then turn around and say there was nothing he could have done to improve the offense vs Alabama.

That’s where your argument falls apart.

The gameplan was the same as all the other teams we played and when we couldn’t run all over Alabama the offense didn’t work.
It wasn’t well coached.

LSU has hired a man in Coach Johnny Jones that any player in this nation would want to play for, because he's a player's coach and a man of his word. In May, I will receive my Doctorate Degree, and this doctor prescribes LSU and Coach Jones to make their dreams come true."

What I'm saying is that you can listen to an interview like that and like what you hear while still not being entirely convinced by it. Just because he played doesn't make Ensminger a great coach, and just because I didn't play doesn't mean my opinion of Ensminger is wrong.

shite, Belichick played lacrosse. Never played football professionally.

So that means it has to work right?

That's all fine and good, but it still does little to convince anyone.

Any negativity on this board is met with "let's just see what happens first." The same goes for this thread.

The negatives want to see what happens first before they get excited...The positives want to see what happens first before they get disappointed.

If it's pointless to constantly "bash" the coaches before the season has even started, as you've said many times, then it's pointless to constantly prop them up before the season has even started. No one's mind is going to be changed about anything until they take the field. Period.

That was statistical analysis of the OC's over two years time. The play calling was obviously better during Slinger's time.

It does? You disagree with the data or the research? The guys name is in the post. Email him and explain your statistical analysis and why he is wrong. Let the board know what he says when you set him straight.

A lot of teams that play Alabama do not look well coached. Clemson didn't look well coached in the playoffs this past season when they lost to Bama 24-6 while gaining 188 total yards. But people on this board will tell you how well Clemson is coached.
