thought depth would be an issue. I figured with Daniels experience the offense would be ok to start the year.

Well...we all did...

Took coaches a little too long to make adjustments...FSU kept ball a long time too

We didn't have that many possessions...so it seemed...

i tend to stay away from posting on the rant in the off season but can’t tell you how many posters drunk the sauce on every update about the coaching/team/players

you go against the grain in which your views don’t align with the majority of posters and you get crucified. then those some posters that crucified you are bitching because we look flat in all areas

i always hold judgement until i see for my own eyes and watching them last night was hard on the eyes

For me I'm just grateful that we made a change at head coach and I do believe we have a great coaching staff...

My expectations are fairly low for this year and which as a fan makes it a easier to just enjoy the games...

Best take of the evening. Have an upvote.

I still have concerns about some of the body language and energy of the team (especially from Boutte). But this is the best perspective yet.

This is a beautiful summation!!!!

I am amazed how absolutely clueless the majority of TR renters have Become. BuT....
It's not just renters, read some national press, no mention of what CBK was left.

Everyone thinks the transfer portal fixes everything and no rebuild is needed, WRONG!

I agree, I think the ESPN FPI favoring us in 9 or 10 games and Scone blowing smoke up our arse, gave some fans unrealistic expectations.

Reality is they will end up 7-5 or 8-4 at best.

The good news is that nobody on our schedule besides Alabama and Florida looks all that great. I expect most of our games to look like they did last night in terms of how they finish, where the game gets decided in the closing minutes.

I said this in July so there were some of us pumping the brakes:

I would say go look at the LSU program under Saban for a bit of a clue. Dinardo did bring back the magic to a degree. Then incredibly tanked for 2 years but didn’t leave the cupboard bare as far as athletes. Saban came in and immediately began turning the culture around and recruited at an even higher level. The assistant coaching staff was absolutely sick when you look back at it.
Still, on the field results took some time. 8-4, 10-3, 8-5. You saw glimpses in the second season of what could be. But it took til year 4 to win the NC.
The footing under BK is firmer than when Saban came in. But make no mistake the culture was totally wrecked and the recruiting strategy and talent development was weak.

I’d say you really see full steam ahead at some point in 2023 season. 4 losses this season is definitely not out of the question. Watch more for how we play, how we’re coached, and how the program is developing- especially in year one. I fully believe the outcomes we all desire will come- given a little time.

Week zero tune up game would have fixed most issues. It’s a coach problem mostly, lack of forethought

we are down 9 scholarship players on roster and had 10 scholarship guys not dress out last night. WTF do you expect? We had freshman in because Orgeron fricked this culture and roster every way possible.

Finally a decent post from someone on this board. It’s an entirely new team.

unreal the knee jerk reactions after one game

We were favored to win that game and should’ve lost by 14. We also looked undisciplined, unprepared, and made virtually no effective adjustments until the late in the 4th quarter

Outside of any scheme complaints, The moving pieces in regards to personnel is a lot to undertake, esp with new coaches & coordinators

It’s going to take a minute. The secondary and OL especially will need time.

All facts! frick the narrative of new coaches and all the other excuses!! This team was not prepared like we’ve been made to believe. We’re soft and still making pop warner mistakes!
