During the Natty ceremony they had an interview with Milam's family, and they said he was here for the A&M (I think) game and knew this is where he wanted to be. They had nothing but good things to say about LSU, the fans, and the experience. $$ always talk but LSU and CJJ are a brand that carries weight.

What an absolute waste of money
15% of $20.5 mil is $3.075mil
And that is just revenue sharing, it doesn't count the increased nil, coach salaries and other expenses.
Total waste of money with the current state of the program. You can bitch about woman's BB but at least they are competitive and have a Natty.

That argues for changing the program, not for cutting the money. The latter will just keep it bad or make it worse.

All WBB loses money, you really think the increased value to the brand of UCONN, SC, LSU, Iowa is not increased in value far more than the cost of the sport? BTW the $1M given to WBB buys you one five star…one

As an aside, regarding a need for more revenue, also included in the settlement agreement, LSU & all other schools will be able to sell ad space on the 4 25 yard line markers. Ad spaces in both endzones are also allowed but LSU is not going there....yet.

I didn't say cut it, just that money is being pissed away with nothing to show for it.

Arky has Tyson and Walmart, I wonder who we will have? Cane's and Exxon maybe?

Baseball should get the next most after football. 8 titles earns them that privilege. Football is the big money maker so that makes sense as the top payout. Give JJ the weapons to recruit big.

MOST schools will not divy up $20.5 million this season. Texas A&M is dividing up $18 million. If the Ags cannot afford $20.5 million, 90%+ of the other Div I schools won't be anywhere near $20.5 million in revenue sharing.
Schools like Coastal Carolina and LA Tech and ULALA, whose total athletic programs lose millions per year and only stay competitive because the state subsidizes them, will be lucky to divy up $5 million accross their sports program.
It is NOT the percentage of revenue shared by a sport that counts. IT is the total amount shared PLUS what NIL is spending.

This is the old number before the new Woman's basketball TV contract went into effect plus expenditure may have changed. Does anyone have the updated numbers to see what the current P/L is? I'm sure it is still losing but hopefully much less.

Flip basketball and baseball.

The missing piece of all of this is the increase in baseball scholarships. Instead of offering partial scholarships and using TOPS to fill the gap, baseball players now can get a full scholarship and pocket the TOPS money.
It's also a competitive market. What school is going to out pay LSU with the same track record for championship and draft potential?

If you notice in the article, they didn’t answer whether LSU fund the full allotment of baseball scholarships. They said the majority of new scholarships being created are going towards women’s sports.

Costal Carolina has said they will be giving a much larger percentage to baseball
They gotta hire a few coaches for the season opening series, so this is to be expected

Baseball is the best thing LSU has going for it right now and that includes football.

Rev share doesn’t mean NIL goes away
I would expect a lot more NIL deals for baseball

All SEC schools are doing $18 million in cash plus the extra scholarships which you can apply $2.5 million as a credit
That’s how you get to $20.5 million

Keep your dumbass on Saints talk.

This is pure insanity. LSU baseball has done as much as any sport to deserve revenue sharing.
Splitting 5% with other sports is totally insulting. This will do more harm than good to the baseball program.
