There were times where JD made the OLine look worse than they really were by not throwing the ball to open receivers.

Hopefully he sees the field better next season and lets it rip. He still has not proved to throw WRs open and with anticipation on a consistent bases.

The good news for JD is he will get lots of opportunities because he is CBK’s favorite.

You don’t know that we have a better option though. That’s the problem none of you seem to be able to accept.

You saw a decent performance against a team playing soft defense because they were up huge and for some reason you’ve convinced yourself that that QB is the second coming of Joe Burrow. AND you’ve convinced yourselves that despite that QB being so obviously better that our coaching staff is going to forgo all the extra money they would make from winning more games, forgo a chance to win a national championship (the very thing BK said he came here to do) just because he either has a personal vendetta against said QB or just “likes JD better” for reasons. That’s completely irrational thinking.

So was Will Levis and he's not that good.

Says who? I can give you a VERY long list of QB's selected in the Top 10 that Rantards would have considered good college QB's. We can start with another Kentucky QB - Tim Couch?

He is what we needed in '22. We need him to be more of an actual QB in '23 in order to improve.

HIS numbers are awesome, but those numbers don't translate to even average numbers for anyone else on the offense.

He'll be a 5TH YEAR STARTER in major college football in '23. If he doesn't know by now how to involve others in the offense or stretch the field to open up other aspects of it, then he probably won't with one more spring.

No question. He's still indecisive and overly cautious. Tua had the same problem his first 2 seasons in the NFL.

JD isn’t a good quarterback

It’s a musing to me to watch people bitch and moan about a guy who accounted for like 3600 yards total O, 27 touchdowns, had a 69% completion rate, 3 ints, guided a team picked fifth in the west to the championship, and was voted most valuable player by his teammates.

and oh yeah, beat Bama which is something no quarterback at LSU had done in the last 11 but for joe.

But he wasn’t good. lol

Next season teams will be ready to stop JD. It’s a real issue. They will mush rush 3 spy 1 and drop back 7 and make him throw. It’s simple. JD is most effective running the ball. Make him throw until he proves he can complete passes regularly.

Going into next season if JD cannot prove to defenses he can throw the coaching staff has to be humble enough and prepare Nuss to come in on a drive here or there and get these effective defenses out of rhythm. Plus it may do JD some good to see effective defenses from a different perspective and re-enter the game and take advantage of some things he and his coaches learn while Nuss is behind center.

Because I can tell you, Saban has already adsorbed the Arkansas defensive tape and he will shut down JD. We need a counter. Nuss can be that counter because it’s a totally different style and Saban biggest weakness are game time adjustments. His players are usually so good game time adjustments are not required.

Maybe someone should have told Kirby, Jayden passed for 200+ against Georgia on one leg.

Most people here know that Daniels is more than a competent QB but his lack of accuracy on vertical routes downfield is what killed a TON of drives for us last year. He has to get better at that or he will continue to have games like Arky and Auburn.

He played better than normal against UGA. It’s a good sign.

Probably the best thing that could happen to JD and LSU is to take away his instinct to run at the first sign of pressure.

If the offense is scoring enough points to win games and win the west I wouldn’t say the offense will be “going backwards”
Idc if we score 10 points or 100 points in a game. If we win it’s a win. Do what wins you games

A drive here or there? Really? If JD5 comes out like he did last year he needs to be benched with no discussion. What would you have to see to conclude he simply is overmatched by the position? I have seen enough, bUt I'm noT duH CoacH...durr, durr, durr....

Now on to Daniels…no doubt he has his strengths, but he hardly qualifies as a “dual-threat.” He’s an athlete that happens to play QB. Here’s something for you stat guys: 30 pass completions at 10 yards a pop? That’s 300 yards per game. That’s 3,000 in 10 games. And a ten yard pass is easier to complete than a 20+ yard pass, so there’s a chance for a high completion rate as well. So, JD looked good on paper because he dinked and dunked all season. But, on the field? So many wasted opportunities because he refused to throw down field. Defenses kept creeping up because of it and he still wouldn’t sling it. This is not the quality of a good QB. Take your rose-colored glasses off and see him for what he is. I’d be surprised if he got drafted higher than the 4th round, let alone as a QB

Unfortunately, for you, what you have seen doesn’t count as much as what the staff has seen and the other players have seen.

JD is coming back, he’s going to be the first game starter, and all LSU fans should be hoping that he improves and we’re good enough to be ranked 5th in the playoff poll 11 games into the season as we were this yr.

JD didn’t play like a three year starter. He cannot read defenses. He cannot call his own plays. He consistently stepped up in the pocket to late. Ate sacks like a pacman. He didn’t utilize his superior receiver group to the fullest. Imagine if you will him not having the YAC added to the total compared to others. No I’m not satisfied. I hope spring brings an even QB competition. It will be a long season full of ups and downs if JD starts.
