You realize they had one of the best staffs all season right? Hitting was a non issue.

Nope all the sudden they can’t find the strike zone but last weekend they couldn’t miss, Ole Miss is just getting lucky that USM can hit the side of a barn.

No it wasn’t the issue. It’s that the team sucked and had no business even being there. Johnson has a ton of work to do!

Ole Miss probably realized throwing strikes and fielding the ball is all you need to do to beat Southern Miss.

LSU let USM off the hook. The batters were swinging at crap at their laces, and the LSU bullpen pitchers couldn't find the strike zone.
In both regional final games, every pitcher brought out to the mound by LSU (outside of Hilliard) couldn't control their pitches. It was honestly unusual.

LSU was 4th in the SEC in batting average. They were 2nd in runs, hits, homeruns, and RBI’s behind only Tennessee.
Ole Miss was 9th in batting average and not comparable in the other stats either.
