After reading everyone's replies it seems that LSU is not listening to the fans. The issues are:
1.Tailgating
2.Parking
3.Traffic
4. Creampuff rent a wins.
Yup. It just got to be such a pain in the arse. The top three seem to all be inter-related for me. Such a damn hassle to get to and from your setup spot for tailgating. And then with #4, why go to the hassle to watch us beat the shite out of some rent-a-win.
I guess one positive of the hours of post-game traffic is that everyone sobers up before they get on the road.

5. Too many seats in stadium.

I inherited my dad's eight season tickets in 2007. I gave up four of the eight in 2009 and I had a guy who bought the other four until he had to stop in 2018. I let those go last year. The season tickets had been in my family since 1968. Living in Memphis, it made no sense to keep them anymore.

Did the same thing 6 years ago. Now I just pick the game(s) I want to. Haven’t been to TS in 3 years. No regrets.

I pulled the plug after half a lifetime and life got much better. The hardest part was giving myself permission to let go of something I had done since I was 7 years old. Now, if I want to go, I buy a ticket.

I am a North End season ticket holder since '82; started with 2, then 4, and currently at 6. Although we moved to Key Biscayne (Miami) after Katrina, I/we continued to attend home games regularly. Attended all games (home and away games on odd years between '03 - '11) - just because we wanted to. Since '12, it's been a pick a game we want to attend. No games in '20 due to Covid and no games in '21 - tickets donated. I will continue to support LSU as much as I can, but I too may be in that number for '22.

This guy put out an entire season ticket retirement thread.
Why do you think anybody here will give a crap that you aren't renewing your season tickets?

I had season tickets from 1986-2015. Same exact thing for me, very hard to let them go after so many years. I got gameday lazy over the years and didn't feel like fricking with it any longer.
Its all good brother. We get older. Priorities shift. It life

Totally understand! As you get older, it becomes a hassle especially with the parking and after game traffic. I think others have noticed something else- the passion and craziness seems to have been sinking for some time now. Don't know if it is the current generation being too 'woke' to care, but there is a different attitude today. I think other schools are going to start seeing the same issues. Live college football Saturdays was once the greatest thing anywhere, but not anymore. Even if we didn't have every game on TV in HD, you look at covid, wokeness & even op-outs leaving deep scars in what was once a wild, crazy fun event. This would be a great live discussion, hard to say everything in writing..

I can understand completely. I have a 70 HD tv and all the games look great from my living room… heck with all that hassle….

Don't get me wrong it's way better to watch a game in person than on the tv. But when you watch on tv, you are way more comfortable, have better food, can drink the way you want, and you don't have to waste hours of your time in traffic getting in/getting out.
It's nice every now and then to actually hit a game up in the stadium, but it's a no brainer. Let the season ticket newbies who just jumped on board go through all that for the next several decades. They'll be making this same thread 30 years from now too.

Gotta love all these twats downvoting the guy. He's not in any different position than many of us already or will be. What makes it worse is when you have pitiful leadership seemingly adopting wokeness social justice bullshite and it's easy to give up what you valued to deeply. When the leadership starts endearing themselves to Louisiana culture and values you'll have less of this and more enthusiasm.

I gave up my tickets I had since 1976 (19 + 24=43 years). Was in NO ditto your issues plus game experience traffic, etc/. Tickets were primo on east side line 30 yl.

It's become smarter to buy individual game tickets and has been that way since they surcharges started in the early 2000s.
This. Regardless of how you feel about the program or the gameday experience, they're a bad investment. Way easier to just buy tickets for the certain games you want to attend.
Season tickets are more of a vanity item.
