Nuss needs to be pushed by someone in spring and fall, plus what if he sprained an ankle bad?

Or what if we get to the Bama game and he gets targeted with no flag thrown? These are things that happen.

So those dumbasses think that a quarterback would jump at a chance to be a backup at LSU.

No, most of us think a lot of QB's would jump at a chance to play for the team that just turned Jayden Daniels from a day 3 pick into a top 10 pick.

Just like we think Nuss will probably be the starter in 2024 no matter what.

If you bring in another QB and he ends up beating out Nuss in the spring, then you're right back in the same situation (Collins as back-up) once Nuss enters the portal.

While true, this also means we upgraded the position which is a net positive. May the best man win

the Rant shits on every freshman we bring in and thinks we have to have transfers for every position. It is possible for a 2nd year QB to be a viable option as a backup. IMO, we need to figure out how to recruit one of the best high school QBs in the nation and get him in the QB room.

Walker Howard did it to sit behind Jaxson Dart for two seasons. If Ole Miss can do it, LSU should be able to. I am not saying Holstein is the guy we should be looking at going after (or if he would even leave), but he fits the bill.

Collins hasn’t been mentioned at all this year by LSU’s coaching staff as to how much he’s helping with the scout team. I’m sure Collins has practiced all year just don’t know how he’s progressing.

This is correct. The Nuss Bus is leaving the station so either get on or get out of the way!

I don't think we "NEED" to go after a QB. But I would not be shocked if we do go after one to bolster the depth at the QB position. I do believe the staff believes in Nuss at the helm next year and potentially 2025.

Def need depth behind nuss, but I’ll be floored if he’s not the opening day starter next year.

Correct. It shouldn't be a big deal. In today's CFB, you should take a QB every chance you get. Players and Player advocates wanted limited restricted movement for players (to be on par with coaches) and this is the equal and opposite reaction. You cant depend on kids on your roster. Look at how many starting 2024 QBs entered the portal on Day 1.

In this free agency period in minor leagues there is no player that will transfer to be a backup. They are likely transferring because they currently are the backup.

We need a really talented rs freshman so it's normal to sit, and he's capable enough to manage a game hopefully if Nuss goes down.

They should be able to get one of the top 3 transfers whoever they are considering the last 6 years.

Kind of like this year. Can you imagine if Daniels had been lost for the season in September?

Why sign a freshman QB each year? Sign the best Jr in the Portal.

It's worked for two Heisman winners.
