They were both proudly wearing their “I beat anorexia” T-shirts underneath.

That SEC Championship and the 2000 Peach Bowl were two of my favorite times as an LSU fan. That was before we became so spoiled and when we could actually still enjoy a non-National Championship post season.

Both of those games were an absolute blast to attend despite there being no expectations of anything beyond winning the game and representing LSU.

So much more enjoyable back then. Our fanbase has been ruined.

I like high expectations, don't get me wrong, but we need to stop that from letting us enjoy great moments.

I was at that game. Tennessee cheap shot on Rohan out of bounds led to an effective QB running attack from Matt Mauck.

What made it more enjoyable was Chavis defense couldn't stop Lsu running single wing QB draws over and over. Also, a play that many forget was the 3rd down conversion by Josh Reed. He was so good that year.

Matt Mauck was only 5–15 for 45 yards passing. I couldn’t believe that we beat Tennessee with that stat line.

Tennessee turned it over twice and LSU capitalized. The Tigers just wanted it more. Remember, this was the 3rd meeting between the teams in over a year. Lsu matched up with them, except Hookfin was burned by Kelly Washington in Knoxville and in Atlanta.

Wild that Tennessee as a program has yet to fully recover from a random SEC title game in 2001

The voodoo curse is real
