Do we have a potential day 1 SS in this class? I think Thompson will be fine but I also wouldn't mind having the option of seeing him at 3rd and sliding Doughty back to 2nd.

Theo Millas pitched 3.1 scoreless tonight. 5.1 innings with no earned runs in two outings so far and a 0.94 WHIP.

Not sure what level of competition the Perfect Game league is, but I think he can be a reliable 1 or 2 inning middle reliver/setup guy next season.

Project (or anyone else), if the magic roster number is 40 this year, do we have to reach 40 by the fall semester or next spring? Thanks.

If only 2 recruits go pro, this could get interesting. I only see 8 current players as draft risk and 6 of them could return.

Today is reporting day for the Collegiate National Team. The whole roster (double the normal amount of players because they aren't travelling) is not posted yet, but Dylan Crews was de-activated from his Florida League team.

I think it is before the spring. I'm pretty positive they can use the fall to help decide who to cut. However, I'm not sure if the ones cut that late can transfer for the spring or not.

With Arnold in the portal we are now at 51/40 for next season. Not a whole lot of fat to still be trimmed when you consider the draft.

Luke Leto is now showing on the roster for the Kalamazoo Growlers in the Northwoods league. He's a late arrival for many reasons, his HS team went to the state finals, then he went to the MLB draft combine, and just the other day he played in the Michigan HS All Star Game.

Projected lineups aren't out for tonight's Growler's game, but it starts at 6:05 central. There are links through the Northwoods League website to watch most or all of their games for free.

Bianco is also on the Waterloo roster now. And Jack Merrifield has been with Battle Creek for a week or so now.

Coincidentally, if anyone is looking for good summer vacation destinations, Western Michigan is pretty great. There are beach town, breweries all over the place. Grand Rapids is a very cool smaller city. Kalamazoo is a cool college town.

Pretty much the way PM recruited was to recruit Short Stops and have them play all parts of the infield. So, to answer your question, every IF recruited can play SS but as we have seen, not every SS can play 3B. I think JJ will recruit kids to play their natural position. Holt, Leto, and Simon are the 3 IF recruits signed and the kid from LSUE who is a natural third baseman. From what I am hearing, Leto probably won’t play SS. That leaves Simon and Holt. I don’t know much about Holt but I know Simon has been a SS/IF his whole playing career, was offered and committed as a Freshman, started on his Varsity team as a Freshman and played with the Elite Sheets Travel Team. He has the skills to play the positions and will be coming off of an arm injury where he fractured a bone in his Elbow. I know Simon was offered as a SS but he can also pitch. He has been clocked in the 93mph range on his FB. The fact is, none of these kids were JJ recruits, so time will tell with who he brings in from the portal and how these kids transition into the program with a new head coach.

How do they end up with near 20 year olds playing on the 17u? There's a kid with a Jan 2002 birthday on that roster.

ETA: 6 Alejandro Rosario RHP R/R 6-1 165 1/6/2002 Miami 2020 Miami, Fla.

It's pretty easy when you're looking at the 2019 roster.

Couple short of the 48 that they had planned on. I wonder if they shortened the roster or will be adding a few more.
